Okay this was too hard not to respond to. Do you have a copyright on the name? No. You can't sue them for stealing your idea. That's just too damn bad that it was accidentally stolen. Unless it's copyrighted or trademarked or something or other, you can't sue them and even if you tried to I highly doubt you would even make it to court for someone stealing your Percy Jackson fanfic name.
@percabethforevs
You can't joke like that. People interpret it the wrong way. And yes it's illegal but I didn't steal the name. He was named after Luke Castellan and Charles Beckendorf, two of the close friends that were lost.
I was kinda joking about the whole during thing. And it is still illegal. Have none of you read the rules to writing . Well I learned them I school. You cannot copy a name or steal an idea or anything like that no matter what. Professional or not.
@percabethforevs
And this isn't professional writing. I doubt it's illegal to coincidentally have the same name for a character that's named after other characters that their parents knew.
@percabethforevs
Um no I have never read that and why would I intentionally steal a name? And Luke Charles is named after lost friends and like @MorningStar said, most people assume Percy and Annabeth name their kids after lost friends.
@percabethforevs
Actually I'm pretty sure people assume Percy and Annabeth would name their children after people who they lost that they were close with. So...
Hey ever read, how I met your mother, about Percy telling his kids. Well the name luke Charles was his sons name. And I came up with it. If you read it and used that name I can sue. It is illegal to steal an id for writing.
