interesting, I'm eager to see where you are taking this.
I've read through many stories on this site and I hardly ever subscribe. Needless to say, I am subscribing to this one.
also, try to keep the point of view in either 3rd or 1st person. it would make this a bit easier to follow.
But other than that its great!!

Um, Just saying this sounds an awful lot like the beginning of Death and Water. I'm not accusing you of anything but just watch out for similarities like this.
