Today was another beautiful day in San Diego, California. I woke up to my neighbors blasting Mexican music. I'm not angry. My neighbors are from my favorite band Pierce the Veil. No I am not another scene kid who has scars on my body. I do hate people. I'm antisocial my mom likes to call it. My neighbors are brothers the lead singer and drummer. They are really nice people. I do hang out there. They help me with my homework or practice music or someone needs to watch me. I have a crush on their guitarist, Tony Perry. I call him the Turtle Man. My brothers were hitting the door telling me to get out. I came out.
"I hope you left some hot water for me" My eldest brother, Alex yelled.
"I'm not like you or dick face to leave no hot water. Tell mom I'm going over to the Fuentes to practice." I ran out of the front door and across our lawns. I went in the front door.
"I'M HOME!!" I yelled over the music. Mike ran to me and hugged me. He pulled out a remote and mute the music.
"Why are you not it school missy."
"Late start. School starts at noon today. Ends at 3. 3 hours of hell. Woohoo." I set my backpack by the door and sat on the couch. "Where everyone?"
"Well blue eyed freak, Vic is getting ready. Jaime and Tone are on their way here."
"Your just jealous that I have pretty eyes." I stick my tongue at him. Mike started to tickle me. Vic found us on the floor. I was trying to fight him off.
"Mike stop being a gross old man pervert." Mike got off me. I got up and hug Vic. "Why aren't you in school Jess?"
"I can answer this one. School starts at 12 and end at 3" Mike said Vic rolled his eyes.
"What it the last day of school. It true." I waled over to my backpack and got out a piece of paper that had our last week of school schedule.
"You're true to your word." Vic looked at the paper. I heard a car door slam then running. The next thing I knew there was a door in my face and my face was hurting.
"HOLY SHIT JESS" Vic yelled. Mike jumped over the couch to catch me before I hit the floor.
"Oh my God Jess. I'm so sorry" Jaime said. Tony handed me an ice pack. After an hour my face stop hurting.
"Ow that really hurt."
"I think that a bit late. Jess your phone" Tony handed me my phone. My mom was calling me.
"Where the hell are you?"
"Where do you think. I told Alex where I was going and told him to tell you."
"I need you to come home now, Jess."
"Fine be there in a minute." I hanged up the phone. "Mommy dear wants me to go home. Bye."
"Wait Jess I walk you over." Tony got up and followed me.
"So..." It was really awkward. I really liked him and he has a bitch girlfriend.
"I broke up with Tina this morning."
"I'm so sorry to hear."
"She cheated on me."
"That horrible. Well I got to see what my mom wants me. See you later."
"Jess the guys and myself put our numbers in your phone. Calls us or text us if you need anything."
"thank you Turtle Boy." I waved at him and went inside. My heart was beating really fast.
"Jess there you are. Are you okay. Ya mom. I'm fine." She lead me over to the couch to find my only friend at school, Grover.
"Hey man, I was next door. Like always. You know they like you."
"I know Jess. I wanted to hang out here and talk with you and Mrs. Taylor."
"Jess, I want you go to a summer camp this summer."
"What it called?"
"Camp Half Blood, Jess. I work there every summer."
"Awesome Grover. How much do you make there?"
"A lot actually."
"Jess, you have to leave today after school. On a plane with Grover."
"WHAT!!!"
"Jess, you need to go."
"Grover please don't talk now." I said "Why? What the big rush. Nothing going to eat me."
"Well Jess. Yes something can eat you."
"What? Mom that doesn't make any sense."
"Jess the reason why we made you take a class ancient Greek because you are a demigod."
"That impossible. Demigods are half mortal and immortal. It isn't true. The gods aren't real."
"They are real honey. Your a demigod and you are going to that camp. That final nothing else to say. Come straight home and pack. Then you leave to Camp Half Blood for the summer." My mother got up and got her keys. It was time for school. When we got there. Everyone was throwing paper balls at me. I ignore Grover all day until I got home.
"Jess, you got to talk to me." Grover was sitting on my bed watching my pack my things.
"What is there to talk about. What are you going to tell me that you are some type of satyr that takes 'demigods' to this camp."
"If you don't believe me. Ask Tony. He a demigod and so is Jaime." I dropped my things and ran out the door to find them. I rushed though the front door. I saw Tony and Jaime on the couch. I grab both of them and drag them to a spare room.
"What the hell Jess."
"Are you really a demigod." Jaime eyes got big. Tony led me to the bed.
"Yes. Both of us is. Your mom told you. So did Grover." I nodded my head.
"Jess, it not all bad. You make a lot friends there. I promise you. Kids go though for the first time and come out having a bunch of friends." Jaime said.
"When do you leave?" Tony asked me.
" 3 hours." I had tears in my eyes. I refused to cry. Tony held me and so did Jaime. "I'm going to tell Mike and Vic good bye." I got up and left. I said good bye to everyone. My mom drove me and Grover to the airport my brothers tagged along. Actually mom didn't want them to have a party. My mom went as far they let her. Which wasn't very far.
"Be safe. Come home please." My mom hugged me. She kissed my forehead. Grover and me sat next to each other on the plane. It took forever us to get the other side of the country. We took a taxi there. When we got out. We were greet by a couple of people.
"You must be Jess Taylor." The guy in the wheel chair said." I'm Chiron."
"I'm Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon." The guy who looked about my age. He has the same hair color before I colored it blonde.
"I'm Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena." said the bitch with blonde hair and gray eyes.
"Jess Taylor, daughter of Rose Taylor."
"We know who you are Jess" Chiron led me to a cabin that had a lot of people in it. "This is Conner and Travis Stroll. They will take care you. Guys this is your new cabin mate Jess Taylor." They rolled their eyes. They made me a spot on the ground. Told me it time to go to sleep. Fuck them. Fuck everyone. I want to go home.
