The Sea of Monsters Movie Mistakes!

Movie messups

WARNING! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE AND ARE PLANNING TO SEE IT, PLEASE READ THIS AFTER YOU SEE IT! THANKS!
hey everyone! its me erica! okay so i know this isnt fan fiction but i just so happened to go see the new movie: Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters. Now i think that any percy jackson fans can say that the The Lightning Thief movie was pretty innaccurate to the story, yet you have to admit that it was still a pretty good movie..when not comparing it to the book. so this is going to be about the things i saw that were very different from the book: Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters. and by the way thank you for reading this i just really needed to get all of this off of my chest to people who can really relate.

the kids that are in the beginning- (Luke, Thalia, Annabeth, and Grover). Now Luke and Thalia were older then Annabeth right? But in the movie, they are all the same age, and Thallia ages with the tree! umm yeah no.

Tyson- i think that the boy they hired to play Tyson overall is a great actor. But i feel like he was just too different from the Tyson in the book. Tyson supposed to be almost like a baby in a way, or a toddler. You mostly see it in the way he speaks and forms his sentences. also he has a brown eye, and in the movie he has a blue eye.

the mist- okay so the mist is already supposed to be there. In the movie annabeth gives tyson a bottle of "sprayable mist" to cover up his one eye. yet, at the coffee shop the guy with eight arms, is seen with only two arms when a human looks a him because of the mist. so why wasnt tysons eye immediatley covered up?

the prophecy- if im not mistaken, the prophecy that was given to percy, did that not have parts of " the great prophecy" in it? which he isnt supposed to know about until hes 15??

his age- in the prophecy, it says that when he reaches age 20 that he will have to make the decision. but in the books its when hes 15. but i will give them a pass on that one because i know they had no choice but to change it because of the age of Logan Lerman.

the spirit of delphi- this is a positive comment. i honestly think that that part was actually very very cool. with all the colors and being able to see the past with the titans and kronos.

grover- in the book grover was on a quest for Pan, then is taken by polyphemus and sends percy dreams about it with their empathy link. but in the movie, Chris rodriguez kidnaps him.

nectar- now as we all know, nectar is only to be drank when you are injured. and even then demigods have to drink a small amount or else they will burn up and die. well, in the movie theyre sitting there drinking it in their coffee and having it in shot glasses! i was like uhh..what?

princess andromeda- its supposed to be a cruise ship. but in the movie its a yacht ( or however you spell it). but i will admit that it was quite funny when Luke looks at percy and hes like" what are you doing? you cant walk on my roof! " i laughed so hard. anywayyy..

silena beaugard- in the movie, shes already on lukes boat! she was SUPPOSED to be sending information to kronos and luke. then admit she was the spy, and make everything right by attempting to slay the drakon when she leads the ares cabin in to war. she was never AGAINST the gods really. Luke just persuaded her by using his charm and good looks! so now if she already turned, then how is she going to go out with beckendorf! she honestly plays a very important role and thats one of things that most ticked me off.

circe- in the movie she creates a theme park for demigods called "circeland" and then polyphemus destroys it. so circe isnt even in the movie. she never turns percy into a guinea pig and trys to make annabeth a sorceress. which ofcourse means that annabeth and percy never steal the pirate ship.

the sirens- are they there? nope, not there. didnt make the casting call.

tysons "death"- in the book tyson tries to save clarisses ship, but the ship explodes, he is thought to have died, and annabeth and percy are seperated from clarisse. but tyson is saved by the hippocampus. in the movie luke tries to shoot percy but tyson takes the shot instead. he falls into water, and is believed to be dead. but comes back because he is healed by the water.

polyphemus- where polyphemus lives is supposed to be an island that is beautiful and lures satyrs. but in the movie he lives in the old amusment park circeland since he destroyed it, in the "plummet of death". also when they defeat him in the book, they use the same tactic in the old greek stories by turning annabeth invisible and her calling out "im nobody!".

the fleece- its supposed to be an actual fleece thats golden and they basically guard it with their lives. in the movie it looks like a small rug or carpet.. they are also very reckless with it. when they are found by luke, they basically let him take it by leaving it on the ground!!

clarisse and the fleece- shes supposed to take a flight from florida to new york. then when luke finds percy, annabeth, grover, and tyson he asks them where it is. then comes to find clarisse is already on a flight back to new york, in shock that percy actually trusted clarisse with something so important. then percy convinces luke to fight him. but in the movie luke gets the fleece and does something insane..

Kronos- HE BROUGHT KRONOS BACK WITH THE FLEECE! like he literally just drops it on the tomb and BAM hes back. but kronos swallows luke, so it made me feel a little better. but it doesnt matter because kronos doesnt come back until the 4th book! so now why in lukes right mind would he try and resurrect kronos again because he attempted to eat him just like he did the big 3. then percy "destroys" kronos.

the beginning- when clarisse and percy go head to head on that thing ( i have no idea what to call it) i thought that scene was really cool also. one of my favorites. i think the thing that really drew me to it was the song they played. i even downloaded it on my phone right when i got home.

chiron and tantalus- in the book chiron is blamed for thalias tree dying and is replaced by tantalus.

technology- okay. yeah DEMIGODS= NO PHONES. yet clarisse pulls out her cell to snap a picture of grover in the wedding dress. and then annabeth is sitting there using an ipad!

annabeth- im glad to see that they dyed her hair blonde. i even think that she looks better with blonde hair instead of being a brunette as a real person like in reality. shes also less war like. more brainy if you ask me. which is nice because thats what happens in the book in my opinion. pretty brainy and smart, but very brave and can fight.

so overall those were all of the little mistakes i found while watching it. i honestly do think it was a great movie, its just annoying to have read the books and see how different the movies turned out. i cant help pointing out the mistakes. so thanks for letting me rant guys! and if you havent seen the movie or read the books and just read this, well sucks. because i put a warning up there for spoilers so yeah! anyhoooo.. comment any mistakes YOU may have found that i forgot or start up a conversation about it! trust me, if your upset about it too, talking to people that understand really helps. and if you want me to make one of these things for the lighting thief, then put it in the comments! also one moree thingg: check out my other fanfiction stories on here. theyre great. so please read and review them! one is about the romans meeting the greeks and the other is the hunters of artemis. thanks guys!
