Summary

When Tacey was a little girl, there was absolutely nothing to worry about. When she did get worried, it would get washed away in a second or a minute. Her mother was always there, caring for her, soothing her worries.
But when she turned ten, everything changed.
She tried desperately not to worry. She didn't want to live with a thousand things to care so harshly about. But everywhere she went, people were giving her worries, things were giving her worries, her thoughts were giving her worries... Life was giving her worries.
That never changed ever again.
Or so it seemed.

Tacey had an imaginary friend at her side that would soothe her, calm her, like her mother did when she was young. Her imaginary friend would figure out ways to solve most of her problems, and Tacey was thankful to her imaginary friend. She almost seemed like her imaginary friend had her own mind. One day, she gave her imaginary friend a name; "Asha".
Who knew that could have been the start of a new life.
A day after Tacey named her friend, Asha disappeared. Tacey tried to imagine her friend again, but the soul had been washed away from her mind--Asha was no longer with her anymore.

Asha woke up.
She was a fifteen-year old girl, she had a friend named Tacey, they gave each other advice, they were somehow connected. Tacey was her imaginary friend, but when she'd given Tacey her name, somehow their connection disappeared.
Tacey used to help her. She used to take away all her worries. But now she was gone. Tacey was no longer with her anymore. Asha wished she could reconnect with Tacey.
Tacey was gone.
But there was still a tiny piece to find.

Philotes was a minor goddess, but she played an important part in the good world. Friendship and affection and loving.
The "imaginary" friendship between Tacey and Asha had been a fun chance to see what friendship didn't break. Too many friendships and couples have broken, it was nice to see these two friends-who thought each other as imaginary.
When Philotes allowed them to know each other's names, she immediately regretted it. She would be going to far--and would be breaking this imaginary friendship. Zeus wouldn't have allowed it for reasons of things she would have been lectured for a few centuries. Philotes apologized and pleaded for Fates to not break them apart, but the Fates were bold.
All Philotes could do was make sure the Fates didn't separate them completely. So they could find each other if they were strong and clever enough for the Fates not to know.
"Good luck, Tacey and Asha." Philotes said gently. "May Tyche show you compassion."
And they were broken--but not completely.

  1. The Girl Under the Tree

"Look!" Annabeth pointed over the Half-Blood hill. A girl was sitting by Thalia's pine tree, but she was in a stiff posture, as if she was meditating. "Who's that?" "I dunno. Lost demigod?" Percy shrugged. "Could be. Let's find out."

  2. The Girl Hidden in Shadows

Wait--what? Something stopped him, and he stumbled back into open air. But a girl appeared out of nowhere. She seemed confused, but tried not to show it. Her eyes were looking everywhere--as if they were scanners, as if they were taking everything in. "Wait. Who are you?" Nico looked straight at the

  3. The Girl Who Has Gone Crazy

"Tacey pushed Nico out of his shadow travel, and Asha appeared under Thalia's tree--they might be a threat." Elsa shook her head. "I don't think so." She said. "They seem harmless. They might be demigods, too. Asha is sick. Tacey is mad."
