Sam's Adventure

I felt the sun shinning through my eyelids, which woke me up from me sleep. As I awakened, my head felt as if a train ran over it many times. My eyes slowly opened and the sight I saw was shocking. I expected to be in a bedroom, and wake up and see the ceiling. Instead of being in a room, I was in the air, and I was looking at the ground, miles below. I couldn’t help but scream out of fear of falling.

I eventually calmed myself down and realize I was going to fall. I noticed the ground was moving behind me, like I was moving through the air, almost like I was flying. I looked around and realized I was sitting on something.

I moved my hand around and it felt soft. I saw wings coming out of each side. I turned around and saw a butt. It wasn’t a human butt, but a horses butt. It was light blue and had a long, curly tail. I looked straight and saw a head, which also belonged to a horse. I realized I was sitting on a Pegasus! She was flying very smoothly, soaring through the air.

“Hey look, Sleeping Beauty has finally awoken!” I heard the buff girl say. I looked up ahead and saw her sitting on a Pegasus, not to far ahead form me. I looked behind me and saw Dylan on one too.

“Well, at least I have a chance to attack Malefacent!” I said to her. She looked confused for a few seconds then she just smirked.

“Well princess, my name is Clarisse,” she said. I looked at her with newfound curiosity.

“Okay, what’s with the nice stuff, Clarisse?” I asked her. She just looked at me and smiled.

“I like you kid, you got spunk. I really hope you parent is Ares,” she said with a grin from ear to ear. I looked at her with confusion painted all over my face. Ares, my parent? What is she talking about? I thought to myself.

“Who?” I asked, making sure I heard her correctly. Ares could not be my father.

“Ares, the god of war,” she told me. That didn’t help at all because I already knew who he was.

“Oh, I know who he is, like I know that he isn’t real, like Zeus or…” Dylan cut me off by bouncing into the conversation. Literally, his Pegasus jumped in between us.

“Or what Sam? Like the harpy, or that Pegasus that you’re riding?” He said with a hint of aggravation in his voice. He looked at Clarisse, but I couldn’t see how he looked at her since he turned his back towards me.

“What’s with that anyway, I thought we couldn’t control him?” She said to Dylan.

“Don’t look at me, the dang horse wouldn’t let any other horse come with us. Other than the one’s that we’re riding of course.” He replied to Clarisse. I was very confused, so I just stared at them both.

“Why would he want to come with us?” I asked. Dylan looked over at me.

“Because he wouldn’t let anyone ride him and he doesn’t like people,” he said with some irritation.

“A kid from our camp, Percy, found out that only one could ride him,” Clarisse said to me. I looked down at the Pegasus who snorts. I then hear him in my head, seriously.

Are you all really that dull? It said.

I looked at the others and they were all staring at the horse. Well, at least I wasn’t going crazy. I shake my head and looked at the horse again, then back at the others.

“How much longer?” I asked Dylan and Clarisse.

“It’s right there kiddo,” Clarisse replied. She pointed to a big strawberry farm, but as we got closer, the farm turns into a huge camp. It had a big rock-climbing wall that had lava coming out of the top. I noticed that directly below us, there was a large crowd of campers, all wearing orange shirts, began to crowd around where we were about to land.
