Sam's Adventure

Chapter 6

I woke up to Clarisse staring down at me with her dagger eyes. I quickly sat up, accidentally waking Emma up. She shrieked when she saw Clarisse, and didn’t blame her.
“What are you guys doing here?” Clarisse demanded. I took a deep breath before I answered.
“Well, I had to talk to Chiron in the middle of the night. He let us sleep here,” I explained. She seemed satisfied at my answer.
“Um, Chiron is looking for you,” she told us. I got up and let Emma lead me out the door to where we practice our archery skills.
When we got there, we saw Chiron observing the other campers. He must’ve sensed our presence because he turned around even though no one made a noise.
“Ah, Sam and young Emma, I’ve been waiting for you,” Emma giggled when he said that.
“The Oracle lives up there Sam,” he gestured to a cave that was on top of a small hill with beaded ropes for a door.
“Emma, would you like to shoot for awhile?” Emma nodded and I pulled out my sheath of unlimited arrows.
“Here, press the button to shrink it and press it again to make it grow,” I explained to her. Emma’s eyes widened and she took the sheath of arrows and ran off. I sighed and hiked up the hill. Once I got to he top, I stepped inside the cave to see a curly red head sitting on a cot, drawing on a note pad. She looked up from her note pad and smiled.
“Hi! I’m Rachel, you must be Sam-“ She stopped short and her voiced changed into a raspy, older voice.
Females alone of different ages,
Will be able to free the bird from it’s cage.
All together you will have five,
But only if you succeed will you come back alive.
She shook her head and grinned at me.
“Well the, that was the weirdest prophecy ever,” her voice was back to a normal teenage girl’s voice.
“Any idea where to start?” She asked me. I grinned mischievously because I knew exactly who to bring.
“Well, first I’m going to find Emma and then I’m going to find three other girls,” I told her.
“Okay!” was all she said. I ran outside before I died of hallucination.

I ran into Chiron, luckily his front, not his backside.
“Sorry Sam, I didn’t see you there,” he apologized and helped me up.
“So, I’m guessing you got a prophecy?” He asked me. I nodded and repeated Rachel’s prophecy to him.
“Well, that’s the most different prophecy. It gives no hint as to where you were heading. Anyways, you will you be taking?” I took a deep breath, expecting him to refuse my request
“Well, so far, I have Emma and me. I was going to go around with her, looking around the cabins and stuff,” I waited for him to say ‘no, Emma’s too young,’ but nothing like the sort came out.
“Well, Emma would not be my first choice. I would suggest starting at the big three cabins and going down,” I nodded and ran over to Emma to explain everything to her.
