I watched the new kid as we sped down the road towards the camp.

He seemed to be taking this pretty well so far, but Sandie's hooves seemed to be really fascinating him or grossing him out, I couldn't really read his expression.

Liam, I think, was 14 years old from what I remembered, Sandie told me his information. She seemed pretty fond of the kid so I decided to be nice to Liam for now.

Liam shuffled in his seat as we came to a stop.

"So where are we going?"

"Camp Half-Blood'" I said.

Liam blinked a couple of times then "That can't be real!"

It was my turn to feel shocked "You know of it?"

"Well my grandfather used to tell me stories about it, when I was younger but it was just a story...?"

I laughed "It's real Liam, very real"

Liam frowned at me.

I watched him slowly come to a realisation, the clogs in his brain turning.

"T-the gods are real?"

I smiled glad I woudn't have to explain every single thing to him like I do usually do for new kids.

"Everything your grandfather told you about Greek myths is true"

Liam gaped at me.

"You'll catch flies Liam." I said laughing.

The car stopped near some trees.

Sandie opened the doors of the car as we quickly hopped out.

I scanned the area as I hustled Liam with Sandie inside, then across the border line and sighed with relief, no monsters, well apart from the ones at Liam's school, I really needed to talk to Sandie about that.

I felt sorry for Liam as he stood there awkwardly, not sure what to do as he looked around, bewildered and amazed.

"You know what this means right?" I asked him.

He stared at me before answering me "I-I guess but how? I swear I'm not that special, I'm just well...me! How, how can I be...part god?"

I shrugged "Thats what everyone thinks, go to the cabin over there, Chiron will help you, more than I can."

Liam slowly nods and walks shyly and quietly away towards the cabin.

It was lucky no one was here, as they were all playing capture the flag, then I heard some ones footsteps, moving in the opposite direction.

I snapped "Not you Sandie, we still need to talk about how 10 monsters escaped your notice today! We could have been killed if I was on my first mission"

I pointed to my cabin "In there, now, Sandie we need to talk”.
