My name is Brooke Tompson, and I am 16 years old. This is a story about how my life turned around because of an Olympian god. I was a normal kid, until this happened...
Several years ago, I was wandering around under the ocean. Yes, I am part mermaid, in case you were wondering. Anyhow, I then ran into a big, buff guy with a blue- wait, blue? -mustache. He looked so condescending, I was wondering if I should run. Suddenly, he spoke.
"Brooklyn. I have been waiting for you."
I panicked. After all, I was only 12 years old and I didn't really have any special talents yet. But when I thought about it, it seemed the ocean was never too hot or too cold; therefore I did have magical powers. Yet, I didn't think this was really a power back then. I mean, who would listen to a random guy wandering around the ocean anyway?
"Um, why?" I wondered aloud.
"You are a very special girl. Your mother is not your mother, and your father is not your father. You, my dear, must not stay here. You are not safe, in the ocean," He explained, with sea green eyes growing bigger by the minute.
"But why? Then who are my parents? Please explain!!" I asked desperately, wondering suddenly if the information to come would be too much for me to handle. I was right.
He sighed. "After all these years, I guess you deserve this information. I am your father, Poseidon. Your mother is Aphrodite. You are immortal. You are not safe in this ocean because powerful and evil magic beings in here are trying to work against you. On the day you turn 15, you will be officially claimed by your parents and will be torn between loyalty. Choose it, before it is too late!"
He dissapeared.
