Princess of the sea (DISCONTINUED

Monsters

After dinner, Percy and I walked back to our cabin.
"Uh, Percy?" I asked.
"Yeah, Brooke? What's up?" He replied casually.
"Just wondering... why are there so many monsters whenever I go out into the real world?"
"Oh," He replied, as if this was a very discussed topic. "We're like beacons for monsters. That's why."
I wondered why we were 'beacons', but I learned not to ask questions when mean looks are being shot at me. Yeah, that's right. And no, Percy was not shooting the look at me. It was my mortal enemy, Samantha Hart.

"Hey, Seaweed Brain?" A voice behind us inturrupted the silence.
Percy turned excitedly. "Annabeth!" They kissed.
I looked down tentatively, wondering if I should just head back to the cabin already. In actuallity, I was sort of sad that Percy was already taken, but in the back of my head, I shrugged it off.
Don't make a sound! Said the timid part of me
But what if he is just faking it! said the worried part of me
SHUT UP ALL OF YOU! said the peacemaker part of me
I didn't want anything to do with this little reunion, so I ran off to the coffee shop, being careful to skirt around Samantha. Sadly, I am a trouble attracter.
"Hey, crap-face," I heard Samantha say snidely.
"Look who's talking!" I shot back.
"Moi?" she looked self-conscious. "I am the most beautiful Aphrodite girl ever!"
"We're related," I grumbled under my breath.
She heard me and burst out laughing. "Oh right, immortal. I'm so glad you don't have the space of a goddess yet, because, well, you don't really deserve it!"
I growled and ran away, turning my back to the trouble like I always do. Thankfully I got away to the coffee shop as easy as pie. I fumbled for my phone. Shoot, I forgot it in the cabin. I hoped that Savvanah, daughter of Posiedon, got the memo to come to this camp. If not, I hoped she didn't die before then.

As I sipped my hot cocoa, I was marveling about the silence when all of a sudden, a big roar broke it. I stood up and ran to where Percy had last been. Thankfully he was still there. In all the commotion he and Annabeth were running toward me as fast as they could. When they got to me, Percy was out of breath, but Annabeth explained.
"It's a drakon," she wheezed. "One of the most deadliest monsters ever. Go! Toward that big red house on the second floor! It will be fine. You don't have a weapon yet, but that's OK! We'll get you one afterward! GET INSIDE THE BUILDING NOW!"
She screamed at me to get inside as soon as a big, black shape blocked out the sun. I didn't have any reason to object. I ran toward the house she decribed, and didn't look back until I was at a window, inside and safe.

I watched Annabeth and Percy fight side by side, one sword, one knife. They worked really well together and I envied them for that. After what seemed like hours, the drakon was gone. I thought it was safe to come out, and who did I meet? Samantha Hart.
