Annabeth and I sat at the beach. We rested on a bench as we listened to the waves. Sand got along the bottom of her dress, and I brushed it off. She blushed slightly, and gave me a light kiss in the cheek. I was going to propose to her tonight. I had bought a special ring for her. It was a silver band with diamonds in it, not like most rings. There was a ruby in the middle, and the whole ring was like a simple band. I had a silver band, plain and simple. Her engagement ring was a sleek silver band with a single ruby in it. On the wedding day she would get her special ring. If she said yes. I got down on a knee and tied my shoe, I was nervous. I had her engagement ring wrapped up in a little grey box with a green bow.
"Uh, can you take me home? I have some work to get done." I heard her say. She sounded choked up, holding back tears. I kissed her forehead and helped her to my car. she set her purse with me before getting in, so I slipped the ring into the purse. She got in the car and I drove her to get loft.

I waited outside her door, making her think I left. I heard her put her purse in the counter and sigh, then sniffle. She cried a little but and I heard rummaging of her purse. She was crying a little but more now, then I heard a slight gasp, and something being pulled from her bag.
"My Wise Girl, I love you. Always, Seaweed brain." I heard her read the little card on the ring's box. She snuffled and opened the box. I remembered I had a key and slowly walked inside. I walked behind her quietly. I saw her holding the ring, smiling. Tears of joy drug mascara down her face. I walked I see her eyes. I took a tissue and cleaned up her tears.
"I like you better without makeup anyway." I said. She threw her arms around my neck, tears falling from her eyes.
"Yes, Percy. I will marry you. I love you." She said, meeting my eyes. We kissed, and I slipped the ring in her finger.
"I love you too. And I want to spend my life with you." I said, kissing her.
