Have you ever heard of an offspring of a fallen angel and a mortal?

They're called Nephilim. Ring any bells?
I thought not, because the odds are that’s just what you are. A mortal, damned to a life of blinded reality. Lucky for me, I can see through every glamor and ever trick of the Mist. So did my mother, being Nephilim at birth. I’d like to say that’s what ended up getting her killed, but it’s not. Her death is my fault. After all, my father was a god.
Sucks, doesn’t it? Three hours after my birth, demons practically tasted the mix of angel and godly blood on their rotting tongues.
They got my mother instead.
I was left in the care of my mother's best friend, Maryse Lightwood, leader of the Institute, a safe haven for Shadowhunters, or Nephilim if you will. They adopted me in, seeing as I was about the same age as the other young babies there. I’ve grown up there, and now at age seventeen, I’ve found something rather intriguing.
I can control water.
It’s not that great, I don’t have very much control over it, but I know that maybe, just maybe, this has to do with my brother. I only got to see him on occasion, but I know some of his friends from speaking to him through Iris messaging. Odd way of communication, if you ask me.
Doesn’t matter now. I’ve been feeling the bond my father forged with an immortal girl named Calypso increase more and more as time goes by. Something bad is going to happen.
I can feel it.
Call me Echo Adler, by the way. Might as well have someone remember me before I die.

Shadowhunter; close friend to Echo. Sister to Alec Lightwood. Also very tall, black hari and eyes. Crazy skilled in strategies and fighting.

Shadowhunter; often described as annoying and "stunningly attractive" Blonde hair, gold eyes, very tall. (HATES ducks)
Sebastian (Johnathan Christopher) Morgenstern
Clary's older brother, bent on reshaping the world.
Haven't read mortal instruments so I'm just a tiny bit lost but that's a given lol, besides that I love it :D
