The Rise Of The Titans Series: Kronos's Revenge (Book 1)

Chapter 8

Percy drove the demigods (in addition to Bob the Titan) away from the Titan's Lair and stopped at the nearest gas station, which was roughly like 100 miles away. They were all still shocked by Kronos's mighty attack.

Leo could remember seeing his friend's eyes turn solid gold, which sent iciness down his spine, and also the Titan lord's voice himself come out of Jason's lips. Leo shuddered-- It was ,indeed, quite creepy.

"This is such a mess! First, Jason being possessed by Kronos, and then, leaving him alive back in the lair, now what?" Percy grumbled, scowling with prominent frustration.

Piper gave a small sobbed as soon as he mentioned her lost boyfriend. Annabeth patted her back and murmured reassuring words to her. Leo saw Hazel studying Bob through her golden eyes-- not like Jason's creepy solid gold, but lively and glowing golden eyes.

"So, Bob, how did you know we were there at that time?" Hazel asked, slight hostility marked in the edge of her tone.

What is her problem? Bob just saved us! Leo thought, diminutively aggravated.

"I felt it. I wanted to help Percy friend!" Bob replied briskly, unaware by her tone. This time, it was Leo's turn to study the janitor dude, Bob. He remembered what Kronos yelled out back at the Titan's Lair-- Why have you come, Iapetus?! Leo wondered with stark curiousity who Iapetus was.

"What did Kronos call you? Iapetus?" Leo blurted out.

By seeing the guilty look on Percy's face, Leo became even more interested in the subject. Bob shifted his weight and frowned, "I don't get it that much... but-but I know it was my past, I have always known it. I have already chosen my destiny to be Percy's friend, not Kronos's servant." Bob said, narrowing his eyes.

"It's nothing really cruel." Percy said quickly. Annabeth flashed Percy a weird look, then looked back at her Daedalus laptop, immersed in studying a map of some sort. Annabeth showed Percy the diagram, who blankly stared at it.

"We're in the middle of nowhere, Percy! We'll have to contact Chiron or someone else who knows what they're doing to tell us what to do!"

"Wow. I thought we could've just killed Kronos and head back home." Percy muttered. Annabeth glared daggers at him and scowled.

"It has never been so easy!" She snapped and slammed her laptop closed. Leo inched away from her fuming aura, knowing that Annabeth could be extremely dangerous when she was aggravated.

Percy looked as if he was to argue back, but then he seemed to realize something, so his eyes softened.
"Annabeth, it's all right, okay? I've got it under control," Percy finally said, giving her a heartened smile. He fished out a prism out of his backpack and an golden drachma from his pocket, and looked at the others. Leo watched Percy reflecting the sun with the prism. A tiny rainbow appeared and Percy flicked the golden drachma through it.

"Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering," Percy said. The rainbow shimmered and an image of Chiron appeared. Chiron seemed to not notice for a couple moments, but then he jumped when he saw them, startled.

"Percy, what's happening? Are you guys all right?" Chiron asked urgently, eyes full of concern. Leo couldn't help laughing at his ugly white party ponies T-shirt, which was ripped and splattered with blue paint. Frank looked at Leo as if he was crazy.

"We've already been in the Titan's lair, Chiron." Percy replied, folding his arms. Chiron rubbed his long brown beard and frowned.

"Ah...of course, the Titan's lair, you have defeated Kronos, yes?"

Percy gave a sigh and told Chiron the whole story about Kronos's possession over Jason's body.

"What is this?" came a dawdling, lazy voice. Through the iris message, the demigods could see their Camp Half-Blood's camp director, Mr. D, waddle up and looked at them.

"Ah, another demigod loss, eh?" He said, and yawned.

"Listen, Mr. D...or Mr. Chiron.....or both of you-- we have escaped the Titan's Lair and we were unsuccessful in defeating Kronos. He has taken over Jason's body and is too strong to fight, along with his minions. We need your help." Percy growled. Mr. D's eyes widened, and he opened his mouth as if to say something, but the Iris message suddenly dissolved.

"No!" Percy yowled and glared at the prism. "What terrible luck we have," Leo muttered to himself. Blue lightning shot out of the air and there, appeared a man with weathered face and green eyes in the front.

"Dad." Percy said quietly, still looking quite furious. Poseidon, Percy's dad, was wearing an Hawaiian button-on shirt and Blue Khaki pants. Poseidon nodded, pulling off his sunglasses.

"You look quite chill, dude," Leo remarked. Poseidon pierced him with his brilliant green gaze, but said nothing that acknowledged his comment.

"The gods have come to a meeting. You shall attend." He said, and with that he disappeared, along with the demigods.
