Life of a Legacy

That night I had a weird dream. I was on Olympus and all of the Gods and Goddess were there. They were all standing around me in a semi circle with Hera, Athena and Poseidon in the front.

"Hello," I yawned as I rubbed my eyes.

"Aw," Apollo said, "how cute! This is going to be good."

Hera rolled her eyes.

"Um, not trying to be rude, but, what's going on?" I asked. Poseidon had that grin on his face that Dad and I had when we attempted to play a prank on somebody.

"Nara, we, the Olympians, have decided that a proper apology is needed for the incident that has occurred," Poseidon said. Then I realized what was happening. Hera must of read my thoughts because she snapped at me.

"Just so you know child, I'm only doing this to appease my husband," she said. I smiled and rocked back and forth. I wasn't so tired anymore.

"Quick question," I said. "Can my parents be here too?" Hera looked like she wanted to kill me. Athena seemed to of smiled at me then she waved her hand.

"Mom?" I heard my mom's voice say. I turned my head to see she was wearing a gray long sleeve shirt with some dark jeans and some black ankle boots. Dad was wearing a dark blue hoodie with the omega symbol on it and some jeans and black sneakers. I knew Aphrodite had something to do with that, and I didn't want to know what she did to me.

"What the-whatever you thought we did, we most likely didn't do it," Dad said. I swear I thought I saw Zeus grin a little.

"Percy," Zeus said, "you did nothing. We have a surprise for Nara and she asked if you could be here." Dad looked so confused and Mom looked shocked. I just stood straight and stared at Queen Hera herself. She glared at me and said,

"I apologize to you, Nara Jackson, for kidnapping you and swear on the River of Styx to not do anything like this ever again," the room thundered as she finished talking. I smiled at her.

"Thank you Lady Hera," I said. I know this time that I saw Zeus smile. Most of the Gods left, saying their goodbyes. The only ones who stayed were Athena, Poseidon and Hera.

"I hope I never have to hear from you again," Hera snorted.

"Don't worry. Next time I eat a cheese burger, I'll remember you said that and pray to you specifically," I said. Hera stomped her foot and vaporized. I closed my eyes and when I opened them again, I saw a very amused Poseidon and a grinning Athena.

"That's my granddaughter," he chimed. Athena rolled her eyes and looked at my parents, who were giggling.

"I must admit, you've raised her well." Mom just put her hand on my shoulder and Dad shrugged.

"I believe it's time for you to go back," Poseidon said.

We all said goodbye and Athena and Poseidon waved their hands. I woke up in my bed looking at the celling. I looked down and said a thank you to Aphrodite. I was wearing a light blue shirt with a white pegasus on it and a gray jacket. My jeans were faded and I had some white rain boots. I walked out to the living room to see both of my parents there. Mom had a picnic basket in her hand and Dad was scratching his head. Dad saw me, shrugged, and told me lets go on a picnic.

We walked down to the beach and had a great time. Mom and Dad told me some of their adventures. When they told me about Bob the Titan, I looked up at the sky and saw my favorite consolation: the one made in honor of Zoe Nightshade. "Bob says hello," I said.
We all huddled up together and I fell asleep in my parents arm. It was good to be home.
