Making Decisions

Fiona and I got back from her school and she went to go join in the activites. I sat on the hill and told her to go along. I have four days to tell Lilly, who is know on her feet, if I want to go to New Rome or not. Most people would assume that this was driving me crazy. However, watching my little sister slip away from me was much worse than this. For the past four days Fiona and the Hunters have been hanging out publicly as if telling the camp to say their goodbyes. They let her use their bows and I they tought how to use her dagger. They even let her sit with them at dinner last night.

She even followed the campers schedules sometimes. Even Chiron seemed to act as if Fiona was going to join them. I refused to believe it. I just sat there alone, thinking about how I let Fiona see me cry. I was just so upset about overhearing Lilly talk to Tiffany that I had to be alone. It wasn't the first time that I cried just the first time someone saw me. Acting nonchalant about it was kind of hard, but I wasn't going to let her know that. I barely noticed Hazel sitting down next to me.

"Hi Tyler," she said.

"Hey Hazel."

"You know, everyone is thinking that Fiona and the Hunters are getting along pretty well," she said.

"If your here to tell me that it's obvious that Fiona is joining the Hunters, please don't," I said.

"Look, no one is a big fan of those Hunters. But, come on and open your eyes Tyler. Don't you think if she didn't want to join them, she would of said no right away? Fiona is joining the Hunters," Hazel said.

"Go away," I said bitterly. Hazel got up and left. She was the tenth person to tell me something like this.

"She seems like she wants to," Piper said. "Thalia will look after her you know," Jason said. "If she's happy, let her do it," Frank said. "Fiona is young, strong and smart, the kind of people the Hunters recruit," Reyna said.

I shook my head, kicking those comments out of my mind. I almost lost Fiona twice and thinking about lossing her forever was screwing with me. And as if the gods wanted to test my paticence, Lilly came. I told her to go away and then we started arguing. Before we knew it, we're cursing each other out in our faces.

"Why do you have to ruin every damn thing!" I finally said.

"Excuse me?" she said it as if I had told her she was uglier that Medusa.

"I was sitting her alone, fine, then you had to fuck with me. We were actually a happy couple and you had to mess that up too."

"I knew you didn't support me! You just only ever think about yourself. No wonder Fiona is joining the Hunters! Its a miracle anyone can stand being with you!"

"Well if you feel like that, then let me do you one more favor. We're done," I said. The anger left her eyes, her mouth closed and she froze up for a few minuets. When she came back to it, her voice came out soft.

"Did you...did you just break up with me?" she asked.

"Lilly, lets face facts. We had a great time together at first, but now things are not working out and we can't go through like this. So, to answer all of your question: Yes, I'm breaking up with you. No, I'm not going to New Rome with you," I said.

She slapped me and ran down to camp. I rolled my eyes and leaned up against Thalia's tree. About ten minuets later, I saw Olami make her way up the hill with a plastic bag. When she got to the hill, she sat down and pulled out two sandwiches and two sodas. I sat down next to her and took one of each. Luckily, we ate in silence for a while. I was finishing up my soda when Olami decided to say something.

"It's official?"

"Yep, Lilly and I are done."

"New Rome?"

"Out of the question."

"Good, it would be to hard to find another person who won't mind wrestling with me," she said smirking.

I shoved her shoulder playfully and she returned the favor. We put our garbage in the bag and went back down to the pavillion. What I saw made my heart stop. Some campers where keeping Lilly and some Hunters apart. To the left of that, Fiona had a knife in her with a steady flow of blood coming out of her little body. The crowd parted when they saw me, so next thing I know is that I'm kneeling over my pale sister.

"Fiona, Fiona can you hear me?" She turned her head so she could face me.

"Am I dying?" she said. If you have ever been: dipped in acid, trampled by an elephant stamped and have a piano dropped on you, you still wouldn't know what it was like to here her say that.

Olami and ten other people had to keep me back as they took my baby sister to the infirmary. As soon as they let me go, I took off for my cabin. I sat on my bed and cried, someone came in and said it would be okay, but I told them to go away. I fell asleep sometime later.
