Leo Dies at the End

I honestly didn't know what to do. The weird tan girl called Hazel get glaring at me like nobody's business. Did she think I liked Frank?! Him and I were just friends! "We need to leave this place." The boy named Leo said. (I'm an oracle. I knew everyone's names and feelings.) "Have any suggestions, Medea?" Percy asked me. "Hold on. Let me pray to my mother." I answered. Everyone was silent as I knelt down and closed my eyes. "Hello, mother. The Mist is strong here. Could you help me lead the way?" I said aloud. I lit a match I had in my backpack and burnt a piece of beef jerky.

"Hope your mom likes extra spicy." Leo murmured. I glared at him and stood up. Nothing happened for a long while. Then a delicate, white flower bloomed. I got down on my hands and knees to examine it. "Great, a flower." Andra said. "It is a gift! So many are ungrateful nowadays!" I snapped. I carefully looked at the petals.

"So, what does it mean?" Hazel asked. "It either says to wait and be patient, or go Southwest." I answered. "That sums it up." Percy muttered. "Maybe half and half. Half of us go Southwest, and the others wait here." Leo suggested. "That could work. But... I don't know. I have a bad feeling about something." I answered truthfully.

"Well, let's go with Leo's plan. It's the only plan we've got." Percy said, strapping his backpack to his back. "Wait! I'm not so sure abut this." I said. "Can't fight the Oracle." Andra remarked. That's when the thing attacked. It was a huge... Thing. "Can we fight this?" Leo shouted, drawing a dagger. Percy summoned Riptide. Andra drew her bow, Frank his spear, Hazel her sword, an me my dagger.

"What the heck is that?!" Dante yelled over it's roars. It looked like a weird mutation of a griffin. It had the body of a mountain lion, an eagle head, bear paws, saber tooth tiger teeth and eagle feathers for a tail. It was a jacked up lion. "Find it's weak spot!" Andra yelled. We tried stabbing it in numerous places. But it either swatted away our blows or deflected our shots with its tail.

The massive paw swung to the left, catching Frank's leg and sending him flying. He turned into a duck to stop himself from falling. He landed safely to the ground and went back to human. "Any other plans?!" I screamed, stabbing the lion in the shoulder. It shrieked in rage and licked its wound with a long snake tongue. "I'd hate to see the parents!" Leo said.

Percy swing Riptide, cutting its tail feathers. Andra stuck an arrow in its eye. But we were just making it angry. It shrieked again and charged Hazel. She yelped and swung her sword, cutting it across the face. Frank tried to stab at it again, before it bit his spear in half. Then Percy did something really brave and really stupid at the same time.

He leapt onto the lion's back. He clung helplessly to its back. The lion thrashed around wildly, nearly crushing the hut. Where had Dante gone? Was he inside? Andra stuck two more arrows in it's back, barely missing Percy. "Watch it!" He yelled. I panicked and pulled the lion's tail feathers, and I accidentally pulled a few out. As it was focused on my, Percy drove Riptide deep into the lion's back. After everyone had made their final blows, the monster exploded to dust, sending Percy tumbling to the ground.

Everyone was quiet and breathing heavily. I put my hands on my knees and sighed with relief. Almost everyone had gotten multiple scrapes and bruises. Leo wiped off his hands and said, "Well, that was fun. Quite a plan B."
