The End Of The World

I awoke to sun blaring through the window. I sat up and hit my head on a banister. That shot pain into my skull, and I groaned. Nice way to wake up. Marco and Rico had their swords out and pacing back and forth. The girls were asleep.
"Morning." I said, getting up. Rico smiled, "about time!" Marco slapped my back, "Crazy weather huh?" I nodded, "What's going on?"
Rico shrugged, "No idea. Those Gods sure are drunk." The building shook a little, then stopped. "What was that?" I asked. Marco frowned, "The building's unstable. We are going to need a boat to leave."
I nodded, and looked at the floor. My mind felt like a TV in fast forward. I couldn't grasp anything I needed. We had four back packs and seven mouths to feed. Buddy nudged my leg.
"Jack, your ear..." Rico said. I looked at my reflection I'm the window. My ear bloody and ragged, my hair was matted and dirty and my clothes were stained and smelly. Great.
"I can't believe Brittany is gone." I mumbled. "Yeah, it happened so suddenly." Marco agreed. A loud crack rumbled though the building, then the shouts of hoots and yells.
"The Crazies found us." Rico said, fear shown on his face. I nudged Lizzie, then Nisha and Alley. "Crazy people are coming, we got to escape." I told them. I led them to the window and looked down, it was a long drop.
My mind seemed to go on autopilot, and I grabbed a desk from an office room and chucked it through the window. The glass shattered, and I leapt through. My mind returned and I yelled as I plummeted down to the water.
I sunk into the icy depths, and my ears popped, and pain pulled at my muscles. But I was alive. I swam up and waved at my friends. Nisha jumped, and I swam out of the way as she splashed down beside me. She gasped, and sputtered. Lizzie went next, almost crushing me. Then Alley was thrown down, and once she hit the water I picked her up. Rico jumped down, and then Buddy. Finally Marco flew through the air, and plummeted into the water.
"Run!" He yelled, reaching the surface. We all began swimming away as Crazies leapt out the window. The water was so high, buildings looked like small houses and skyscrapers only reached a little higher then houses. Most Crazies sunk, but a lot swam after us.
"We need to get out of the water!!" I yelled, swimming toward a skyscraper. Nisha was right beside me, and Marco was helping Alley and Lizzie was with Rico. I touched the rim of the window and heaved myself up.
The window was still intact, so I threw myself through it. "Woah, dude settle." Marco said, leaping in. Nisha followed, and then Alley and Lizzie. Rico struggled to get up, and Marco grabbed his shirt and lifted him up.
"Jack..." Lizzie whispered. All eyes are on me. I had a burning pain in me, but I shrugged it off. "Yeah?" I asked. They exchanged nervous glances, then Alley took my hand, "Owie," I smiled, "Yeah. Come here, let's find some medical crap."
Marco nodded, "You too go off, we'll guard the building from Crazies." I grabbed a chunk of glass and went down the hall with Alley. We checked a bunch of rooms but couldn't find any medical supplies.
Alley shuddered, and began laughing a horrible sound. I covered my ears, and she screamed. A blood piercing scream. "Alley?" I asked. Her eyes were bloodshot and wild.
She leapt onto me, and we both tumbled to the floor. She began biting my shoulder and I screamed. I could here footsteps approaching, and I lifted Alley off me and threw her onto a wall. She got up, spitting and hissing.
"She's a crazie." I mumbled to Lizzie and Marco. They took out a sword and pointed them at Alley. "No!" I cried. Alley howled and leapt at Marco, who slashed at her. My baby fell in a heap of blood.
I grabbed Alley and clutched her body. "Jack..." She whispered. "I'm here," I said. "I always will be." She smiled and touched my cheek, then her eyes rolled back and her hand dropped.
Tears streamed down my face, and I turned and tackled Marco to the floor. I punched and kicked and pulled, letting out all my rage. Alley was dead.
