I dangled from the rock with one hand, just now realizing that this was a horrible idea, for several reasons: 1.) I am the leader of WindClan, not ThunderClan. 2.) I am only partially a cat. 3.) This is not a book. 4.) Children of Hephaestus tend to fall. 5.) I have bad luck. 6.) I am a vampire! I burn in sunlight! The sun is coming out!!!!! Basically? I'm dead. I have died 8 times already. I don't need to die again!

Amanda stared down at me, the ten books still balanced on her head. "Uh... This is bad..."

"Hooray Captain Obvious!" Simon says, still sitting to my left.

"Shelby! A cat always lands on it's feet! Plus, no fall damage!" Nico seems delighted with his discovery.

"You jump, then."

"I'll pass..."

Simon seemed delighted to pinch my hand until I fell.

By the way, falling twenty feet into the river is not fun. Even if you have flying friends. Turns out Simon is a bit of a jerk. He claims his wings were not working. I doubt it. That was when I discovered that vampires also can't turn into bats.


I hate video games.
