The Cursed Ones

The Plans

The images I was seeing were terrifying. War, bloodshed, dead demigods scattered all over the battlefield, and the worst part, Jazz was kneeling over a broken body, me. I could hear her wails, and saw the tears streaming down her face.

I struggled to wake up. I wanted this to stop. I wanted to wake up. I could hear the doctors around me, I could feel Jazz's hand wrapped around mine, but I couldn't see. I couldn't move. I could feel the pain in my leg and face, and it hurt to breath. I felt someone stick a needle in my arm, probably some sort of medicine. Duh.

I heard a door close, and felt water on my stomach. It was easier to breath now. I heard the door slam open and heard voices.

"Is she okay?" That was Vahl.

"They said three of her ribs were broken, and they bandaged her leg, and they're working on her face. They said nothing should be permanent, and she'll be okay in a few days." Jazz said.

"We don't have a few days. The Epiphany is in a week, and we don't even know why we're on this quest." Vahl said, exasperated.

"I do." That was Ryan.

"What? How do you know?" Jazz asked. I was wondering the same thing. I tried to open my eyelids, but they wouldn't budge.

"Well, I was contacted to see that you made it safe to the Alamo. Your supposed to find the cure."

I knew knew what Jazz was doing. She was looking at him, shocked. I would be too. If I could open my eyes!

"What? No. That's not possible. That's, that's too hard to believe." She said.

"It's true. I know you've dealt with this for a long time. But if you find it, you'll be cured." Ryan said.

"Wait. What? What's this about a cure?" Vahl asked. I moaned. Yes! I could make noises! Wow. That's awkward. I squeezed Jazz's hand. Hallelujah! My eyes flew open. I looked around the room, and saw white. White cabinets, white drawers, white tables, if it was in that room, it was white. Well, the table did have a few red spots. Wait. Never mind.

"I heard the whole conversation." I looked at Jazz. "Go without me. I'll be fine here. You go with Vahl and Ryan, and I'll catch up later." I said. She looked at me pleadingly.

"I can't do that! Not when were so close to finding the cure." She said.

"I know. But you need to go. You can't wait on me. Vahl is right. You only have a week, and it might take you a while to find it. It may not even be at the Alamo." I said.

Jazz hung her head. She knew I was right, but she didn't want to leave me.

"Please?" I asked. She reluctantly nodded her head.

"But not right now. We'll leave tomorrow morning, and stay here the rest of the day." Jazz said.

A few minutes later and everyone was seated in the hospital room.

"Okay. So we need to get to the Alamo in at least two days, that gives us 3 days to find it, and two days to get back to Camp. Is that good with everyone?" Ryan asked. We all nodded. I saw Jazz's face. She didn't want to go without me, but she had to.

She doesn't understand that if she doesn't go, then we will both be cursed, well, forever. I guess your wondering what our curses are. Well, to tell you the truth, we don't fully know. All we know is that we were born with it, and as we get older, it gets worse. My problems have been mainly the visions, and the one time with the hearing. Trust me. Not fun.

Jazz's problems have mainly been with water. We both have uncontrollable water blasts. It just appears out of no where. Jazz found a way to semi-control it, but it doesn't help with me. I held Jazz's hand.

"You have to go. Please. I promise I'll catch up as soon as I can." I said. She looked sad as she sighed. We talked about plans, and where I would meet them, and then the nurse walked in, saying the visiting hours were over, and that they needed to leave.

Jazz came and gave me a quick hug, careful not to squeeze my ribs. Teary eyed, she left the room. I sighed and laid back on the bed. The nurse gave me a sleeping pill, and I was out cold. When I woke up, the doctor was standing over me smiling.

"Just taking a little blood." He said. I freaked out. He would see the godly blood, and would send me to the CRU. The CRU is the Central Research Unit. They dealt with UFO's and stuff like that. I tried to stay calm and I saw the three vials filled with blood go out the room with the nurse.

The rest of the day I just laid there, in the bed, bored to death. The doctor never came back with the test results, so I guess they didn't see anything. The nurse was nice enough, and she brought me some books.

"Here. These seem to be pretty popular." She said as she laid the five books down. I picked up the one on top and read the title. The Lightning Thief. When I opened the first page, I freaked out. Percy!

@Constrictor
It's good. I know this guy. He's just an annoying person with anger issues trying to get people mad.
