The Cursed Ones

The doc try's to kill me

Jazz's POV

I ran down the hospital hallway, dodging nurses with trays, and doctors. I ran up the stairs, not caring that there was an elevator. I almost ran into a delivery guy on the way to Lizzie's room. I burst though the door to find an empty bed. I slowly walked backwards, freaking out.

I was running my hands through my hair when I heard a flush. I looked up and saw Lizzie limping out of the bathroom. She smiled when she saw my face.

"Did I scare you?" she asked, sliding into the white bed. My heart was pounding.

"Uh, ya? I almost had a heart attack!" I said faking being out of breath.

She laughed. "Good thing were in a hospital." Vahl walked in just then. She looked scared and worried.

"So, uh what's this all about? What about Percy?" she asked. Lizzie's face went from happy, to nervous. She pulled out a green book from underneath her pillow, and handed it to me. I looked it over, and handed it to Vahl. When she saw it, she turned white.

"This isn't what I think it is. Please tell me this isn't it." she said holding the book up.

"What? What's what?" I asked, confused. Vahl handed the book to me and pointed to the back. I turned pale. When I looked up, Lizzie was sullen, and Vahl, was still white. "We can't tell Percy." I said.

"Why not?" Lizzie asked.

"What do you think he'd do, if he saw this? What if he didn't tell this Rick guy about all this and someone else did? How do you think he'd react? If I was in his shoes, I would freak out." I said.

"Alright. Fine. No one tells him." Vahl said. I could tell Lizzie wanted to say more, but kept her mouth shut. I glanced at the clock on the wall.

"Oh my gosh. We have to go. Vahl, Iris Message Ryan and tell him to meet us outside the hospital, we need to leave now. We've already lost and hour." I said, grabbing my backpack, giving Lizzie a quick kiss, and running out the door.

We met Ryan outside, and he had a ride for us. It was a red ford pick up. I didn't ask. We hopped in, and Percy put the pedal to the metal. Just between you and me, he isn't the best driver. He almost drove into a lamp post, at 9 o'clock in the morning.

Lizzie's POV

It had been about thirty minutes since they left, and I was as bored to death. I might as well have been in the Fields of Asphodel. Ryan stayed behind with me, but he didn't stay with me for long. He had stuff he needed to do. I just laid there, all day, reading the books about Percy. They were really good, and I was surprised how accurate they were. It was freaky. I had no dreams that night, which scared me.

Ryan came at around 7:30 the next morning, and he left at eight. At around noon, the nurse brought me lunch. It was pretty good for hospital food. I ate some ambrosia after she left, because my face started burning. When the doctor came in, it wasn't the same one, and there was no one in the halls. He smiled, but I got the impression he didn't like me too much.

He looked at my charts from a yesterday, and the tests they took today, and he smiled. He had a look in his face like, I knew it. The lab coat he was wearing, slowly ripped to shreds as he transformed from a doctor, to a, a chimera. How the thing fit into the room, I don't know.

I screamed, and off the bed as it breathed fire. I rolled under the bed, and grabbed my backpack. I searched for my dagger, and grabbed the hilt. I saw its giant lion paws, and goat hooves, kicking the bed. I made such a racket, I didn't know why the mortals weren't coming in here. Then again, why would they? Never mind. I did my best to put my backpack on, an I unsheathed my dagger. I had a few knives in my backpack, and I had those too.

I crawled out from under the bed, and threw a knife at its face. That got its attention, as the knife lodged itself into its lions head. It roared, and the goat head bleated. That was kinda funny, but not when it shot fire at me. I ducked and rolled underneath its legs and ran out the door.

I ran down the hall dodging blasts of fire, and trying to ignore the pain from my ribs. They weren't healed all the way, and when I rolled off the bed, well let's just say it didn't help any. I ran down stair way, trying not to face plant. I ran out the emergency door, setting off the alarm. Oops. The chimera ran after me as I dodged cars in the parking lot. I ran to the front, and dove into the fountain.

Ugh. The water was dyed blue. Yuck. I dove down the the bottom as the chimera jumped in. I swam to the other side and jumped out, running into the street, not looking back. I could hear it slashing around in the water, trying to stay afloat, roaring as it's prey got away.

I wandered around, wondering where to go, when I spotted Ryan. I was about to go over an tell him what happened, but I saw him talking to someone. No, something.

"Ya. They still trust me. The chimera should take care of Lizzie, and the forgone will kill the others in San Antonio. By the epiphany, you won't have anyone in your way." He said. I was shell shocked. No. Not Ryan. I was about to scream.

@Constrictor
It's good. I know this guy. He's just an annoying person with anger issues trying to get people mad.
