The Cursed Ones

The Voices won't Stop!

Percy took a step back. "Wait. You've been to camp? When?"

I sighed. "It was during the Titan War. I'd seen you fighting monsters and could hear the battle from Camp. I kinda just stumbled upon Camp, looking for, well, I was looking for something I had lost. It was a Hydra that attacked me. But I didn't know it because, well, because I was looking and listening to the war. I can see and hear from far distances."

Annabeth looked curious. "Maybe it's because of the mixes of gods and goddess in your bloodline. Hmmm. I"ll have to look into that."

I sighed, exasperated. "I'm not a science experiment! Neither is Jazz! Just leave me alone!" I yelled. A blast of ice spread ten yards away, and I was standing in the only green area. I turned around to run but I noticed a shadow. A tall figure came out of the shadows and into the moonlight.

The girl had a short white robe, with a hood, and cutoff sleeves. She had a brown amulet around her neck and her hair was red and straight. Her left wrist was wrapped in white cloth, and the right arm had a black glove that went to her biceps. She was barefoot and had a smoking stick in her hand. She stared at me with her pure black eyes.

"Why are you here?" She asked her voice was like smoke.

"Sarah. We were chasing Lizzie. We'll leave now." Annabeth said. Sarah nodded and walked off, smoke following her.

"Who was that?" I asked. "Her name is Sarah Lesley. She's a daughter of Hestia but she was born with, well, some special abilities. She has true sight. Not like mortal true sight, but godly true sight. She sees everything. She can see a trees life just by glancing at it. She can see the past, when she looks at the ground, or pretty much anything." Percy replied.

"Why doesn't she live at camp?" I asked.

"She sees to much. She sees all the battles and gods and she can't take it all in. It's not fun to listen to her when she sees to much. She turns around in a circle, holding her head, shreaking." I shivered.

"I can relate." I mumbled.

I eventually gave up and went back to camp. I sprawled out on my bunk, and tried to go to sleep. I fell asleep after two hours of tossing and turning. The weird thing was, I didn't dream. When I woke up I heard a voice. I couldn't understand what it was saying, and it wouldn't go away. As the day progressed, I heard more voices. I thought maybe it was because I didn't dream, or I was hearing things from somewhere else. I got weird looks from everyone, and was relived to go to sleep that night n

The next day I laid in bed, unable to get up, or hear anything. I could understand them, but there were fifty voices in my head, all talking at once. I saw Jazz look at me, and run out of the room. My eyes were fixed on one part of the ceiling, and I couldn't look at anything else. I was paralyzed. I was scared. I didn't know what was going on. I saw Chiron, Percy, and Jazz, I saw there mouths moving, but couldn't hear a thing.

It it was like fifty rock concerts were in my head. I thought my skull was going to split. It was agonizing. I moaned, and closed my eyes. At least I could do that. Chiron and Percy left, and Jazz sat next to me, with a glass of water. I knew what was going to happen next. She, bended, (Avater: Last Airbender reference) the water and covered my ears with it.

It dulled the noise, but didn't make it go away. I moaned again. She moved the water to my forehead. Same result. She finally gave up after five more tries, and poured it down my throat. I swallowed it and stared gasping. I couldn't breath. My eyes flew open. She pushed on my stomach, thinking I was choking. I wasn't.

I moved my my arm up to my mouth in a drinking motion. A look of realization crosse her face. Percy came rushing in. I saw Jazz explain and he picked me up, gently but quickly. He ran to the lake. He waded into the water, floated on his back, and laid me on his stomach. I took deep breaths. This had happened before. But never with voices. Only images.

The voices faded, all but one. I tried to ignore what it was saying. It was telling me my worst fears, and my doubts. I shoved off Percy and dove down into the lake, trying to clear my head. When that didn't work, I swam back up. Percy and Jazz were at the waters edge. I swam over to them, and sat next to Jazz. I out my forehead on my knees. Jazz rubbed my back.

"Does anyone want to tell me what that was all about? Because that was weird, and freaky." Percy said. I looked at him. "Too soon?" He asked. I glared at him and sighed.

"No. You deserve the truth." I said. "It's kinda hard to explain. I've always been able to see and hear from far distances, and as I got older, it got stronger and harder to control. Sometimes, I would wake up and I would be seeing thing. My eyes would be open, and I would be conscious, but I couldn't see anything. Only images. One time, one of those images, was Rachel." I said. I looked at Jazz.

"I guess that leave me. I've always had a connection to water. I remember having water fights, and pushing a five foot wave at some kids. Later I learned how to use it. I can heal with water, and, well, you aren't going to believe me."

Percy smirked. "Try me."

She took a deep breath. "I'll just show you." She stood up and closed her eyes. The first thing that changed was her feet. Then the rest of her followed. Percy stared in awe.

"You, your, your, you can become water?" He exclaimed.
