New life

I was sitting in my living room with my family. My mom was watching the news while my dad was talking on the phone with his friend. I looked around. Everything was so real... But l knew this life, in this house with these people, wasn't mine no more. This house wasn't my home anymore. I felt uncomfortable. I needed to run.

So, l went outside the house and found myself in "our place". I was sitting next to... to Percy. He was talking about something, but l wasn't listening to him. All l saw were Percy's lips moving and smiling. They were so close, so beautiful, so desired...

In the next moment l was hugged by Charlie who was sitting near me, too. I felt his heartbeat. Charlie's heart was bouncing measured and calm, as if Charlie found his unique place in this world, as if he was happy just sitting here beside me, as if he no longer let his happiness go. He kissed me on the corner of my mouth, and I felt the butterflies in my stomach fluttering, worrying and wanting more.

I closed my eyes enjoying the moment. When l opened them, l saw Percy standing in the sea. There wasn't Charlie anymore, he's gone. Percy was making some fancy water figures. He was knee-deep in the water and shirtless. I couldn't help admiring the muscles and dozens of scars on his back.

Than l flew away from my body and was looking at this night scene from other's point of view. I understood that l wasn't standing on the seashore watching Percy. It was Annabeth. She wore short summer light yellow dress. It was she who admired his body. It was she who went towards him into the water. It was she who cuddled him so tight and so close. It was she who kissed him so passionate and so loving. It was she who had her own happiness, her own love, her own future family.

I turned away. Not that l couldn't look at their happiness, just because it would be indecent to watch them. So, l left them alone and went... Actually, l couldn't go anywhere. I just couldn't move. I was shocked. I was in the place from my nightmare. But there weren't any people no more. Only one. The man with grey stormy eyes, with black hair, who ruled millions kilometers above my head, who was one of the powerful people in the earth, who was, now, my father.

“Hello, my dear.” Zeus said.
“Hello, um...” I was confused. I didn't know if l could name him as my father.
“Oh, it's okay, my dear. You don't have to say that world.” Zeus understood what l was thinking about. “I just needed you to know... To know the truth...”
“The truth?!” I shouted and in the next second tried to calm down. I knew gods don't like when someone speaks to them with that intonation. “It would be better if you never told me or if l knew from the very beginning...”
“Yes...” Zeus took a deep breath. “But it was necessary not to let you know...”

Awkward pause like Zeus didn't know how to talk with me. He knew l can do anything, l can blow up with thousands of feelings in one moment. He knew me because l was much like him.

“Stefania.” Zeus started. “I wanted to let you know that everything will be okay. You need to be strong. You need to fight hard with every bad in this world, because only this will help you to survive. I can't tell you the whole thing, you will know everything soon. Just fight and never give up.” Zeus paused. “You're one of the most powerful demigods. And the fate was planned so. Also the fate decided that you need to open your eyes on some situations in your life. Yes... How you will open your eyes will be...” He didn't finish the sentence. It was clear... ”Everything now depends on yo...”
“Great! Splendid!” I shouted. “I need to save the whole world! Isn't it great?! Isn't it what you always wanted, Stef?! No?! Okay! Nobody asks you! You have to do what the freaking fate planned for you! I don't want! Did you hear that?!” I looked in Zeus eyes. “I don't want to save your freaking world! I want to be back in my normal life! I don't want immortal parents! I want home!” On my last breath l screamed and burst with tears.
“Hey, Stefania, hey...” Zeus went towards me wanting to hug me, but l made a step back. His face was expressionless. Zeus tried not to show his expressions, but he couldn't remove the feelings from his eyes, so Zeus hastened to turn away. “Um... l guess my time soon will be up. So, l need to tell you one thing. Your element is air. Use it, this is one of your main advantages... So, that's all. I need to go. If you want to speak to me... I know now you don't want to... But maybe than everything will change... So, if you want to speak to me, to ask me something, just call me in your head. I'll answer...” Zeus turned wanting to go away.
“Um, can l ask something?” I needed to know one important thing.
“Yes?” Zeus turned to me.
“Who is my mom? Is Aphrodite my mom?”
“No, it isn't Aphrodite.” Zeus smiled. He knew l wanted to know that. He understood l'm starting to accept this new life. “Goodbye, my dear. Know that l always watch you.”

As he said his last words, he disappeared in the air leaving me alone with thousands of feelings. I didn't know what to think about all this... How to be with my normal life? How will look my mortal parents in the eyes? Will l live with them? I need to say them that everything okay with me, that l'm in... that l'm with Charlie. They don't know about this camp. I lived 17 years with them... They grew me up, l need to show some respect, even the aren't my true parents... I need... But l won't live with them. I'll live with Charlie or in the camp. How is Charlie now? He's phoned me thousands times maybe... What will l say to him? That l'm a demigod? No... But the seven's mortal parents know their secret... Charlie need to know, too... He's my friend. I don't have anyone else. He need to know... But what if this knowledge damages him? Hurts him? What if all these monsters know about Charlie and they will attack him? I can't put him in danger... But he need to know...

I was in my thoughts and didn't see someone walking towards me. I saw him only when he said:
“Hello, my dear...”

I looked up and saw a man with golden hair and fire eyes. He was from my nightmare. But only now l could have a good look at him. The man wore red shirt, black jeans, but there was nothing on his feet. He was much taller than l thought. He was pretty handsome: the man had muscular body with millions of tattoos different forms, his long golden hair was in a low ponytail. The one thing frightened me. His yes. They were full of fire, madness and passion. I took a step back.

“Oh, you're afraid of me,-He smiled,-I'm glad... This is very good... Very... Good...” He was studying me. “You know l really like you... That's why l'm giving you more time... Your time will be up in your birthday... I like this idea.” His eyes were full of joy. “You'll die in your birthday... You have nearly 2 months. I know this is your destiny... You're worthy opponent... But I need something from you.” He made a step towards me. “I need your fear...”

The man touched my cheek and I felt unbearable pain. It felt like my face was burning with a fire. The pain was now spread on the whole body. Capturing me all, the pain began to suck my strength, my thoughts killing me. I didn't have strength to fight with it, so l fainted.
