What Now?

I sat down, tears swelling my eyes. Nico kind of awkwardly looked at me and looked away. "Hey," he said it in a small peeped voice. I smiled even though I was completely sad, a tear fell from my eye. Nico looked away sheepishly. I wiped it away and the spoke up in a breathy, gasp-y, way, "I now understand why you're alone all the time." He simply nodded, "I'm sorry," he paused, "she doesn't know what she just lost. The way she brightens up around you, how she uncontrollably smiles when your-" he laughed, "well, just you." I smiled and just broke down. Leo didn't say anything, he just patted my back with his hand. Maybe this precious silence, I thought, was all I truly needed. Leo then came from behind. I spoke too soon. "Hey Perc. Sup Nico?" Leo said. Nico gawkily removed his hand. Leo and then Frank came up and sat down. The four of us sat there unsure about what next was going to happen. We all sat there until the sunset was over with then we all wet our separate ways. First Leo and Frank left. Then it was just Nico and I again. "You can go to your bed now, don't stay up because of me.." Nico yawned, "Thanks." He got up and left. Then it was just me. And I sat there until the crack of dawn. And watching the sun set last night and rise up again, mad me feel different on the inside, somehow.
