The Wheel Of Time

Showing Off

I got up and put the locket on. Percy was still staring at me, but his gaze slowly shifted to my bed.

"Wow, and I thought I was going to have to tell you to clean up. " He said, crossing his arms and grinning again.

"Right, they check the cabins first day back. Who's doing it today? Annabeth?" I asked, walking toward the front door. Percy followed behind me, but caught up quickly.

"Someone from the Aphrodite cabin. If its Piper people can count on it being fair, at least." Percy said as we stepped out on to the front porch. He took a breath and went to say something but stopped, before any words came out. He was starring at something.

I followed his gaze until I stopped on a pair, leaving the huge white marble building next to ours. One was a blonde man with striking blue eyes I could see from here. The girl had long, choppy, cinnamon-brown hair with random little braids. Her eyes seemed to change color as I watched.

She seemed annoyed-but she still grinned. He was smiling, and chasing her down the steps.

"Pipes! Come on! I was joking ! Please." He said stopping, and finished quietly. She stopped and turned. But as I watched, He disappeared. She looked around and then walked towards the stairs again.

I looked at Percy. He was biting his lip, trying not to laugh and failing to not smile. I smiled too, now, knowing something was up.

Then the man, was flying behind her. He landed lightly and and walked behind her until she stopped and turned, almost slapping him. He grabbed her wrist and bent to kiss her.

"Let go of my hand." she said sweetly. Even though I wasn't holding anything, I opened my hand to drop it. So did the man, and he frowned slightly. The woman smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.He whispered something and she laughed.

"No! I am not giving you extra points just because no one else lives with you." She said and walked down the steps, still beaming.

"So that's Piper?" I asked, "And she can use charmspeak." He nodded.

"He," Percy said, "is Jason, son of Zeus. He's... well, he's a bit of a hothead, like me." He chuckled as Piper came closer. She smiled and waved.

"Did you see Annabeth?" She asked walking onto the porch. He nodded, still chuckling. She pursed her lips, still smiling, and shook her head as she walked through the door. She looked around, walking to the back of the cabin. She came back, taking notes on a small clipboard.

"Full points." She said, smiling. "Jason got full points, too. He was just asking for extra." She said to wipe the smug grin off his face. Instead it broke into a full smile, and he laughed.

I walked away as she asked him a question. There were two place I wanted to visit. The first being the stables. I opened the door to smell fresh hay, and to hear an odd sort of chatter.

"I just want to know if she'll give me an apple." I picked up. it came from a beautiful chestnut brown Pegasus, with a speckling of white feathers at the end of her full wings. I turned away from her to a bag by the stable door, and drew out a handful of sugar cubes

I heard a couple of whinnies, and several ooh's as I gave one to each of them. I stopped at her's and gave her two, holding a finger to my lips to get my point across. She nodded.

"So, what is your name? I asked her, climbing up and sitting on the little door.

"Jessie. Well, sort of," She said still chewing, "I was Chestnut, then it was shortened to Chessie, then someone heard it wrong, and now I'm Jessie. She shook her head softly.

"Nice name." I said, lightly jumping down, "I have a little more exploring to do; I will be back tomorrow during free time, alright?" They all bobbed their heads happily. I walked out the stable door, almost running into Annabeth.

"Hey!" She said smiling, "are you finding your way around alright?" I nodded. Then I involuntarily tilted my head to the side, in confusion.

"There is one place I don't think I can find on my own." I admitted.

"I'm sure I can show you." she said, gesturing around the camp with her left hand.

"Can you show me where to find... Rachel?" I asked. she stopped and watched me, confusion clouding her eyes. She nodded, and managed to put on another smile. She looked worried, and happy at the same time.

This was going to be a long summer.

@LCCabin3

All of the above, except not the something not great. And I have NOTHING to criticize. At. All. I LOVE reading this and cannot wait to read more!!!!!

@Frost Wrathbomber, could you elaborate a little on that? I love constructive criticism! But is that an "OMG, how could you?" or a "OMG what's gonna happen next?" or just an "OMG this is great/something not great!" ??????

thanks so much!
