This is a very important rule. Always think of big things then little stuff!!!!! It's always fun to think of jokes for your story's but you really need to think of the big things first.
also try to think of your plot before the first chapter too!

can you check mine,I am just a newbie trotting around with two half stories.....suggestions from you will be helpful.
Read a lot. Its not a bad thing to take inspitation from things you watch, read or even hear about. Don't be so caught up in making the story perfect. or the idea just for a thought it could be as simple as going to visit a tropical island. the journey there could be the story. vice versa also applies too. you could make the story real by becoming your character and writing from their perspective. :)
