Left 4 Dead: the Cole Protocol
Unfortunate Departing
"What in God's name is wrong with you?!" Lee said, pushing me back. "They walk just like the walkers!" I dusted myself off and looked back at the sunset.
"My coach, Coach Hedge, always carries a baseball bat with him. My other friend Frank, is really good with a bow and arrow. It's got to be them." I walked past the wooden fence and into the destroyed crops, getting closer to the two figures.
"Percy!" Frank yelled, rushing forward. We soon met up and gave each other a bear hug, Coach following up on his tiny goat legs. "Are you guys okay?" I asked.
"We're fine, Percy! Everyone made it off the Argo safely except you! We thought you were dead!"
"I want you guys to meet someone. He's back in that house, come on." We arrived at the house with Lee wiping his rifles dirty barrel.
"I don't believe we've met." Lee said sternly.
"Lee," I said."(This is coach and Frank. Frank and coach, this is Lee Everett." They did simple hellos and waves to each other.
"I'm not sure I can spare enough food for two more grown men,"Lee whispered in my ear. "Especially if we are going to Savannah."
"Lee, I can't go to Savannah. Not right now." I said. "I have only half of my crew right now. I need to find everybody else and make sure they are safe before I can even think about leaving. Thank you for the supplies and the shelter." I turned around, ready to leave and find my friends.
"Percy," Lee said, stopping me in my tracks. "Good luck finding your friends." He threw the gun back onto his back and walked out the door with Clementine in tow. Soon, Frank, Coach and I did the same thing. Lee and Clementine headed down the left road, where the Argo II sat, on fire, as I decided to go right, my two friends right behind me.
I will never know if I'll see Lee again.
