Audentis Fortuna Iuvat
Curse
It might have just been me but I felt like the palace had tripled in size from my last visit. Where corridors had led into ruins, sleek black passages led to another room and then another, each one larger than the one before. We were standing gaping at twelve towering thrones, I imagined that it must have been a shadowy replica of the god's palace of Mt Olympus.
Dakota muttered a latin curse under his breath.
"Couldn't have said it better." I agreed.
"What now?" Leila turned to Jason.
The son of Jupiter frowned. "There should be more guards around here somewhere. This isn't... right." He looked around at the hollow throne room, his whispers echoing back at him from the ominous walls.
"What about the titans?" Colin asked, holding his pike tight to him like a security blanket. His blue eyes glinted with fear from under a helmet much too big for him. He was far too young to be on a quest like this, but he was a strong son of Trivia and knew how to manipulate the mist in ways that none of his siblings dared try.
"Maybe they've left?" Aliyah suggested hopefully.
And then we heard the footsteps.
Notes
Sorry for the pathetic length of this chapter but I felt like you guys deserved an update. It may not be particularly well worded since I was too sick to keep doing my homework and tried to do this instead (I started writing an essay and accidentally switched to my version of shorthand which is not a very nice thing to read and not even vaguely coherent)I hope you're all having a fabulous day and remember to smile because living is nice! :)
