Audentis Fortuna Iuvat
Trust
"No way in hell that's happening." I said bluntly, brushing my hair back from my face and wishing it was long enough to tie back. But it grew slowly and two months had only managed to get it to shoulder length.
"It's our best option. Our only option." Jason pressed.
"Then we create another option." I told him over the clatter as he helped me to move the sword racks into the shed. "I refuse to work with that creep."
"Kerri-"
"It's not happening, Jase. He tried to ruin my life, I can't agree to making him a Centurion."
"Octavian's changed, I think he's ready for this responsibility." Jason said. "The fact that you're not ready for that doesn't change my opinion in the slightest. It's happening."
"Jase-"
"Do you trust me?" He asked.
"Of course. I mean, you're my little brother. Right?" I shut the shed behind us and leaned into its door.
He nodded and gripped my hand firmly. "Then trust me to make the right decision."
I sighed as he left the arena, resigned to my fate. Who knew, maybe Octavian had changed after all?
But the other option scared me more, maybe he hadn't.
