Romance Sucks (1st book in the Lost Series)

He moment I looked up from my smoothie, I knew we were dead. Tex scrounged up some money, and we all dined at McDonalds.

I gasped as I stared around the room. It was empty. "River..." I whispered. She was chomping down on a cheeseburger. "What?" She asked, her mouth full of food.

"We are completely alone." I said, gazing around. She dropped her sandwich. "We got to get out of here." I counted everyone, "Where's Griffin?!" Myles looked around, "Thought he said something about the bathroom."

Suddenly, Griffin came flying in. His big brown wings flapped at his side as he soared above the tables. "We got company!" He yelled, dropping into the seat next to mine. I unfurl my wings, which go through the slits in the shirt. Tex, Myles and River do the same.

"We got to leave! Now!" I yelled running toward the exit. A man in a blue uniform stepped in front of me. "Stop right there!" He yelled, lifting a lethal looking weapon up to my chest.

"Link! Run!" River yells. Heck no! I jump forward and collide into his chest, then bounce off and start flapping my wings. "Through the window!" I yell, zooming toward it. I use my feet to crash through the window and emerge outside.

River, Myles, Tex and Griffin follow suit. "Quickly!" I yell, running down the street. Suddenly, more blue uniformed men block our path. A red A is on their shirt. Adrenaline. Oh snap.

They raise their weapons, and before I can yell "Duck!", a blue blast goes off and everything fades away.
