Path of the Ice God

"What?" I was completely confused. Khione was a Greek snow goddess. I was a Egyptian magician. Those things don't mix.

"You're a demigod, of course. Half mortal, half god. Won't be easy being the most hated goddess's only demigod child, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

"No- That's not possible! I'm an Egyptian magician with a little bit of the blood of the pharohs with some weird power over snow and ice which isn't even an element but still! That's impossible! In fact-"

She cut me off right before I said she shouldn't exist. "Show me what you can do."

"Well... Okay. Se-kebeb." It translates in my mind to make cold and ice spreads along the ground out from underneath me.

I had almost forgotten the kids behind me. "It's another one! Run!" the kid with the fire shouts. He then runs like a penguin from a seal (Which, by the way, happen to be monsters for eating something as adorable and amazing as penguins).

"Sorry, Leo's a bit... weird... about ice. And she's his worst enemie. So he does have a reason to run." Annabeth says politely.

Percy doesn't seem to be thinking about politeness. "You know, I don't like her that much either because ice freezes water and all that so..." He runs. Annabeth rolls her eyes and runs after him.

"See how easily people can run from what is unknown?" The woman asks me.

"Well... they have reasons to run from you. Percy's reason is probably best, though. Ice freezes water, and from what I've picked up, these are characters from the Percy Jackson books that my friends all seem to be obsessed with. Annabeth was running after her boyfriend. Now, Leo running, that I can't understand. Fire melts ice." I have to remind myself not to let her influence what I say. It's like her voice is inside my head, twisting my thoughts.

Suddenly Sadie falls through a swirling sand vortex on top of a pyramid thing across the street. "Felix, you'd better not be messing with the weather again! It's snowing in June!"

"It's not me! She did it!" My survival instincts for getting out of trouble kick in, and I'm ready to run.

Carter falls out of the portal. "Ow. Felix, what are you-" he looks at the woman. "-Ohhhhhhhhh" Then, facing Sadie: "We're gonna have to tell him."

She pushes her purple bangs out of her face. "Uh, Carter? I think he already knows."

The woman smiles. "I already told him everything."

"Oh, really? Did you tell him how you teamed up with Gaea to destroy the world? Did you tell him how you turned your enemies into ice statues? Did you tell him how you still charmspeak your enemies and manipulate them into doing what you want?"
