Dying Embers

"Why?!" I screamed into the sky. Tears streamed down my face, leaving streaks in the ash and dust on my cheeks.

I buried my head into my hands and cried. The sirens never came. No one came. I was alone.

The ash swirled around me as I stood and looked over the ash and dust covered terrain. My parents were dead. My house was gone. I was covered in ash, dust and soot, but I stayed.

I got too mad and my power got out of hand. It burned everything to the ground. My parents, my house and my future.

I was in shorts and a T-shirt, and even though they were burnt badly, I was left untouched. I screamed in fury and kicked at the ash.

Anger took me over and I let out a silent scream. Why did I have fire powers?!That's when a piercing pain took me over and I fell to the Earth. A buzzing filled my ears and suddenly I heard a voice:

You are not alone.

"Who's there?!" I yelled, confused. The voice didn't return. Strange. I got up and began walking. I didn't know where or why, but I just walked.
