The Name Stealer

I was walking along the dirt path in the woods, on my way to the lake, when I got a call. I dove into the bushes, and pushed on the ear piece.

"This is a really bad time." I said through my teeth.

"I don't care. I just got word from a source. A new demigod will be arriving, and I need you to be there. She is the key to my plan working, or failing. You must keep her close, and quiet." My employer said.

"Got it. Do we know when?" The line went dead. I sighed, exasperated. I really hate this employer. He won't tell me his code name, why he wants me, and cuts off our calls ALL THE TIME! It drives me crazy. Well, there goes my afternoon swim. I got up quietly and walked back to the Hermes cabin.

I'm not a daughter of Hermes, I'm not claimed yet. Ironic. I changed out of my swimsuit, and into black skinny jeans, a camp t-shirt, my black leather jacket, and my black combat boots, which, hold pistols. I am always prepared.

I was walking around camp, waiting for this girl to arrive, when I heard a scream. Yep. That's her. I ran to the border and looked around. I spotted a girl with white hair running from a flying fury. A trail of frost was following her. I ran out to help her.

"You will make a tasty snack little one." The fury said, reaching out. I yelled and threw a dagger at it. It hit it in the chest and exploded to dust. I ran over to the girl, who was in her knees, and was shaking. I touched her shoulder. She looked up.

"Who are you? And why was a fury chasing me?" She asked.

"You knew it was a kindly one?" I asked, taken back.

She nodded. "Again, who are you, and why was she chasing me?"

"I'm Sky and she was chasing you because your a half-blood. A demigod." I said. I kinda broke it to her early, but the girl seemed to know about the gods.

"I'm a demigod? Who's my godly parent?" She said standing up.

"Well, we don't know yet. We'll find out later. Come on. Welcome to your new home." I said grabbing her hand, and walking back to camp. She gasped, as we walked through the magical boundaries. Her mouth stayed open as her blue eyes went from one side to the other, taking everything in.

I walked up to to the Big House, and went to Chiron's office, almost dragging the new girl. I knocked on the door, and slowly turned the knob. I pushed it open and pulled her in. She just stood there, staring at Chiron like a dead fish.

Chrion smiled. "Ah. A new demigod?" I nodded. "Well, welcome to Camp Half-Blood. I am Chiron, camp director and trainer. And what is your name?" He asked.

She closed her mouth. "I'm Frost. Frost Scarlet." Chiron's eyebrows went up.

"Hmmm. Well, I would love to show you around, but as you can see," he said motioning to the mounds of papers in his desk, "I am very busy. Sky, would you give her a tour?" He asked.

"Sure! Come on. You'll love it here." I said walking out of his office, and shutting the door behind me. I gave her the tour showed her the cabins, the arena, the archery range, the bonfire, and the rock climbing wall.

"Why is there lava on it?" She asked, looking slightly afraid.

"I think it's to give you an extra challenge, but I'm not actually sure. I've lost so many clothes on that thing. They all got burnt." I said with a laugh. She laughed with me. I bumped into Annabeth on the way to Zeus's fist, and she took over from there. Everyone knew I liked to be alone.

I sat next to Frost at the bonfire that night, and she asked me all the usual questions. Who was her parent, why am I here, why is Chiron a centaur, and why were there harpies that looked like they wanted to eat you. I answered all of them in the usual fashion. I don't know, because it's the only safe place for demigods, because he is, and because their hungry.

About half way way through the jokes, Chiron walked up to the middle of the fire. "We have a new camper. Frost would you please come up here?" She nervously stood up and walked over to him.

"This is Frost Scarlet. Please welcome her." Just as they were about to sat hi, a flurry of snowflakes appeared over her head. Chiron looked grave.

"All hail Frost Scarlet, Daughter of Khione, goddess of snow and ice."

Frost looked up, and looked relieved. "Finally." She whispered. I was confused. Why did she say that? I pushed the thought aside as we all knelt. I stood up and sighed. I wish I would be claimed. I heard a gasp go around the campers. I saw a faint glow and looked up. It was just a white circle. I looked at Chiron, who was looking quite surprised, and very grave.

"All Hail Sky Marie, Daughter of Phoebe, goddess of Intellect and Prophecy."
