I will never forget you

'Great job man!' Scorpius said when I met him in the slytherin common room.
'Thanks.' I answered.
'Yeah you never played as good as today!' A boy, named Felix, said.
'Guess we all know why.' Kevin, a seeker of the quidditch team said grinning.
Felix laughed. 'Tell her she has to wish you good luck more often.'
I felt heat rising to my cheeks and left with the crappy excuse that I was going to take a shower. We beat the gryffindors, finally. The last few years we'd always lost from them. I couldn't wait to see James again and laugh at him, just like he'd always done when he'd beaten us. He deserved to be laughed at. For once I was better in something then he was.

When I was dressed again the only thing I wanted to do was lay in my bed and read, or maybe sleep.
'Hey!' Scorpius said. 'Are you sleeping?'
'No.'
'Good. Let's go then!'
'Wait. No. I don't want to leave my bed. It's so soft.'
Scorpius grinned. 'Common, you can't just stay here until dinner.'
'I can't?'
'Let's go.'
'Why would you want to go outside? It's winter.'
'Please?' He pleaded. 'The sun is shining, and we can ask the girls to come too.'
'But what are we going to do then?'
He shrugged. 'I don't know. Have fun or something.'
'Sounds tiring.'
'You're hopeless.'
'I'm just tired.'
'You know that you're the only one from the team who's not having fun right?'
I sighed. I wasn't really tired, but the idea of going outside and talk to people wasn't my idea of having fun at the moment. But seeing the girls and laughing at James...
'Okay.' I said. 'Let's go.' I stood up and put my shoes on.

A few minutes later scorpius and I were walking through the hallways, looking for Rose, Audrey or James.
'Hope they're not still in their common room.' Scorpius said.
'James probably is.' I answered.
'Maybe Rose and Audrey are also looking for us.'
I grinned. 'Do you really think that?'
He shrugged. 'Yeah why not?'
'Rose is not really the girl who goes looking for someone, especially not us. Let's just go outside, what you wanted. If they need us they'll find us eventually.'
'But..'
'Yeah?'
'Never mind.'
I frowned. 'Sounds like you really want to be with them.'
'Oh no I didn't mean it like that. It's just that the more people the more fun, right?'
'Yeah right.' I said. This year things had changed. Before, it didn't matter if it was just me and scorpius. The two of us could enjoy our selfs for hours, but now every time Rose wasn't with us he kept talking about her. Wondering where she was and if we shouldn't look for her. Weird.
We walked outside the school and sat down under a tree near the forbidden forest. It was in the late afternoon and a cold winter breeze blew through my hair. I closed my eyes for a second to enjoy the moment.
'There they are!' Scorpius said excited, disturbing me in my moment of peace. I opened my eyes and saw the girls walking towards us. Scorpius started to wave. Rose smiled and slowly waved back.
'Hey idiots!' Rose said when she'd almost reached us. 'Why are you sitting here? It's cold outside.'
'Ask him.' I said nodding towards Scorpius.
'What? The weather is beautiful.' He said.
Audrey sat next to me. She hadn't said something and I found myself staring at her. She had her hair in a messy bun and her eyes lit up beautifully in the sunlight. Also her blond hair looked almost gold now. Crazy what a bit of sunlight could do.
I'd never looked at her this way before. I didn't exactly know what "this way" meant, but it felt different, a good different.
'Congrats.' She said smiling. 'I had no idea what you were doing but it looked awesome.'
I grinned. 'Thanks. I'm glad I could finally beat James.'
'Yeah he didn't really like that.'
'Good.'
'Hey guys do you mind if me and Rose go check out the lake?' Scorpius said.
'Yeah I have to do something for homework and Scorpius said he was really good in it so he's going to help me.' Rose said. Scorpius looked at her in surprise and she elbowed him and gave him a meaningful look.
'Right.' Scorpius said. 'I'm going to help her with homework.'
'Okay.' Audrey said grinning. 'Good luck guys.'
'Yeah you too.'
'With what?' I asked.
Audrey sighed. 'They're just kidding. They mean nothing with it.'
'I still don't get it.' I said watching my two friends leave.
'You don't have to. It wasn't important.'
'So...' I started. 'Do you like the weather?'
She frowned. 'The weather? You want to talk about the weather?'
'Well every conversation has to start somewhere right?'
'Could you tell me more about this place? About your life? Your friends and family? I found out I barely know something about you and I really want to change that.'
I grinned. 'Barely know something about me? You're my best friend! Of course you know things about me!'
'That's different. I know nothing about your world. During the quidditch game I felt so stupid. It was really awkward.'
'It's kind of a long and complicated story.'
'We've got time.'
I looked in her eyes, sea green and full curiosity. I wondered which one of us would look away first, it was me.
'Okay.' I said. 'But I'm going to start from the very beginning.'
'That's fine with me. I want to understand everything.'

It was almost time for dinner when Rose and Scorpius returned to the tree and I hadn't even explained everything to Audrey. I studied their faces as they slowly came closer to us, Scorpius was heavily blushing and Rose was grinning.
'What's wrong with them?' I asked. 'They're acting so weird lately.'
Audrey grinned. 'Are you serious? It's so obvious.'
'What's obvious?'
'You're kidding right?'
I wanted to tell her I wasn't, but Scorpius and Rose where so close now they could hear us.
'Hey.' Audrey said.
'Hi!' Rose answered.
'And, did you finish your homework?' I asked. Both at them were looking at me like I was speaking Japanese. 'Your homework?' I continued. 'Scorpius was going to help you with that, remember?'
'Ohh yeah right. Yeah I understand everything now.' Rose said and Scorpius started to grin.
'Something funny?' I asked.
'No nothing.'
'Let's go back to school.' Audrey said standing up. 'Dinner starts soon anyway.'
Confused I followed her example. I had the feeling that everyone knew what was going on except for me. Did I miss something?
Scorpius and Rose took the lead while Audrey waited for me to start walking too.
'Ready?' She asked.
'Yeah.' I said. 'It's just that I really have no idea what's going on.'
She grinned and pulled me with her towards school. 'Let's just say Scorpius beat the friend zone.'
I frowned, beat the friend zone? But that meant... Wait. What? I immediately stopped walking. 'Seriously?'
Audrey studied me, probably wondering why it surprised me so much. 'Yeah.' She said. 'But you have to admit it was pretty obvious. And they're kind of cute don't you think?'
I nodded. 'Super cute.'
'Common, let's go. Rose and Scorpius have almost reached school already and I'm hungry. And don't look so shocked, it's not like they're going to leave you behind or something.'
'Of course not and I'm really happy for them, I just need some time to realize it.' I smiled at her but she didn't smile back. Instead she turned around and continued her way back towards school. After a few seconds I realized she wasn't going to wait for me and ran after her.
'Seriously I'm happy for them.' I said when I'd caught up with her. 'Please don't think I'm a terrible friend.'
Audrey grinned. 'Of course not drama queen. You can't help it either that you're so bad in seeing the difference between friends and a-bit-more-than-friends.'
'I guess.'
We reached school, Rose and Scorpius where waiting in front of the door. As soon as we entered the big hall Scorpius and I said goodbye to Rose and Audrey and sat down at the Slytherin table.
'Good idea to go outside.' I said.
He grinned. 'Yeah, best decision of my life.'
