I will never forget you

'Is it true?' Audrey asked.
'What?' I said.
'That you're going to move.'
'What? How do you-'
'James told me.'
'James? Since when do you talk with James?'
'Does that matter? I just asked if it's true that you're moving.'
I nodded. 'We're leaving America next week.'
Silence. She stared at me with her sea green eyes and I couldn't tell if she was mad, frustrated, confused or just something totally different.
'Are you mad?' I asked. 'I know I should've had told you. I just didn't want to ruin the moment and every time I thought; hey, I can also tell it next time. Audrey I'm really re-'
'It doesn't matter Al. Im happy for you! England is awesome! You will have great new wizard friends and do all kind of cool magic stuff and you'll learn to fly! I wish I could come with you to Hogwarts.'
I nodded. 'I wish that too. Afternoons will be boring without you around and classes too.'
She blushed a little and I hoped I hadn't made her feel uncomfortable.
'I'm going to miss you.' She said.
'I'm going to miss you too, but it'll be fine! You still got Gabe and the others right?'
She shook her head. 'I doubt that. Gabe probably only invented me to his party because I'm a friend of yours. And Victoria knows a girl from my old school and she probably told Victoria why I got expelled and now probably all the kids think I'm weird.'
I grinned.
'Hey! Its not funny!'
'You're not weird. And if they think you are, well that's their problem.'
She smiled. 'Do you want to come over to my house? My mom and I backed apple pie yesterday.'
'I'd like to.' I said.
'Cool!'



One week later. Summer break had just started and we were waiting on the airport. Of course we were too early so we had to wait before we could check in. Suddenly I saw a familiar face between all the strangers, it was Thomas, Audrey's little brother.
'Thomas!' I said. He ran towards me and behind him followed his sister. I smiled.
'Audrey!' Mom said. 'What a surprise!'
'Yes we wanted to see the potters one more time before they leave to England.' A man said. It was Percy Jackson.
Dad walked towards him and they shook each others hand.
'Long time no seeing wizard dude.' Percy said.
Dad grinned. 'Wizard dude? You're original, I haven't heard that nickname yet.'
They started to talk happily about all the cool things they'd done together and I saw mom and Annabeth were doing the same. I never knew dad and mom were so close with Percy and Annabeth. Funny.
I turned to Audrey but saw she was talking with James.
'Hey Audrey! So cool you could come!' I said trying to interrupt their conversation.
She looked at me. 'Of course silly!' She replied. 'I'm not going to let you leave America without saying goodbye.'
'Yeah,' James said, 'you have a really nice best friend Al.'
Audrey smiled and they continued their conversation. Sometimes James was the most stupid and annoying person in the world. I looked for Lily cause I didn't want to look like the left over who had nobody to talk with but she and Thomas were playing a sort of weird version of hide and seek. I sighed when someone pulled me away. To my surprise it was Audrey.
'Are you done talking with James?' I tried to hide that I was annoyed but I'm not sure I succeeded in that.
'Oh my Gods Al! I'm here for you! Not for him!' She smiled again, and that made me happy too. 'Here I brought you something.'
She got a little package out of her pocket and handed it to me.
'For me?' I asked.
'Open it!' She said happily.
I slowly unwrapped the paper. In the package was a green bracelet. In silver letters it said: "I will never forget you". I stared at her. 'Did you make this yourself? Its amazing!'
She nodded and blushed. I hugged her. 'I will never forget you too. We'll stay in touch and you can come visit me, or I can come visit you. We can even try out a muggle video program called Skype!'
She laughed. 'Muggle.'
'Yeah whats wrong with that?'
'It just sounds so funny.'
Then my mom came. 'It's time to say goodbye to everybody.' She said.
I nodded and went to Percy and Annabeth. I saw that Audrey was saying goodbye to my parents, and now she was walking over to James who gave her a big hug. She laughed.
'Thank you for everything.' I said.
'Oh it was fun to have you around wizard dude junior.' Percy said.
'Percy!' Annabeth shook her head and grinned. 'That nickname is so not going to work.'
'Sorry. I just had to. He looks so much like his dad.'
I grinned. 'Well Audrey also looks a lot like you and my dad doesn't call her little ehm what's your nickname?'
Annabeth laughed. 'Oh Al. We're going to miss you and the others. Have fun in England and at Hogwarts. I read a lot about it and I think it's amazing.'
'Thank you.' I said and now it was dad and mom's turn to say goodbye to them. I turned around and said goodbye to Thomas. I also told him he had to look out for me over Audrey which made him feel proud.
Audrey was saying goodbye to Lily now and I walked over to them. I knew there wasn't much time left and I wanted to have enough time to say goodbye to her. When she saw me coming she ran towards me and hugged me.
'I'm not leaving forever.' I said grinning although I knew I probably wouldn't see her in a very long time.
'I know.' She said.
'We have to go now son.' Dad said.
I hugged Audrey one more time and then let go.
