"Mia I will jump first and then you will ok!" My sister screamed above the fire alarms.
The heat in my room made it almost unbearable. The fire must be outside the hallway.
"Mia when you land run for the woods get in a tree and here." She paused to hand me Sasha (Sasha is a 23month old baby my mother died 2 days after giving birth to her. Now we live with my older sister Casy.) " Take care of Sasha."
Casy turned around and grabbed a roll of duct-tape. She rapped the duct-tape around the bar just outside out window, then with 3/4 of a roll left she jumped of the window the roll of tape rolling out making it safer for me.
I turned around and grabbed Cassy's best scarf and tied Sasha to me in a sling.
Then i turned around and slowly grabbed the tape. With no footing and no light to see what I was doing, I climbed down the tape. Crud. I looked down the 10 foot drop and sighed. Holding on to the tape with one hand I curled up into a ball with Sasha in the middle and I let go.
I landed on my feet and my ankle rolled.Crud. It was broken no doubt about that. At least Sasha was ok. Sasha. Where was she? I crawled around looking for my sister. Minutes later i found her.
She was limp. She looked asleep but she was wide awake during the climb. Pulse. I checked her pulse it was beating but it was not like it normally was. I found a wood board nearby and hooked it under my arm using it as a crutch. I picked up Sasha and put her back in the sling that was wrapped around me.
I hobbled to the woods one hand on the crutch one on Sasha checking he pulse.

I found a tree 20 minutes later. And passed out in pain.
