Time's Daughter

My Birthday

I cursed, ducking behind yet another tree, my scythe gripped tightly in my hand. I stared at it. Chiron had been right in assuming the pocket watch was a weapon, but it caught us all off guard when it became a familiar scythe. It was black as the night, yet it still shone with the brightness of the stars. It was both beautiful and deadly, it cut straight through the walls of the big house with a single swing and little strength.
At that point, I got a little reckless. After staying at the camp for a couple days, I wanted to leave. Chiron had said he'd managed to convince the police that the murder at school had been an accident, but after Nico had found my phone and saw the regular death threats I was getting from former comrades I'd sent to jail, I was still not allowed out of camp and it drove me insane. So with my extremely deadly scythe in hand, I ran.
And Nico and Clarisse had managed to get a massive portion of the camp to go after me. (*note to self: no more overly protective friends). I cursed and ducked behind the trees, trying to avoid the Apollo camper's arrows. None of the attacks were painful really---just scratches (they were afraid to hurt me--Nico and Clarisse would kill them), but they were starting to get annoying.
My sees scanned the high way for a friend, who was, luckily, still on my side. She said something about a bright red jeep. There! Music poured out of the speeding vehicle. I groaned--it was her stupid anime music. Little dork!
I ran for it, smiling, I could always count on Lucy. I could see her pink hair all the way from over her, with her freaky yellow eyes. She saw me and pulled her jeep in to a three-sixty, slamming on the brakes, then jumped up to her feet.
Lucy's preferred weapon of choice: dual pistols--held upside down. (Don't ask--she's weird like that). The guns rang out, I smiled as several people went down. Lucy was an even better shot than me, even if those were real bullets and not rubber she would have only been dishing out minor damage.
I jumped into the car, taking the wheel and pulling away as she continued to fire. "Daijobu?" she asked.
I glared at her. "English, Lu!"
She smiled. "Gomen! You alright?"
I nodded, as she slid down in the seat next to me. "Thanks for the lift."
She shrugged. "I see you found your scythe."
I glared at the road in front of me. "That's not all I've found." I started to tell her my story.
When I finished she started squealing, "You've got a boyfriend! You've got a boyfriend!"
I groaned. "He's not my boyfriend!"
She looked at me, her eyebrows raised. "Right, because you sleep with all your friends like that!"
I ignored her and sped as fast as I could to her apartment.

My jaw dropped. Ew. Her apartment was disgusting! It was in dire need of desperate cleaning, and it smelled like a garbage dump, and the sweltering heat didn't help one bit.
"Lucy!" I scolded. "Haven't you learned to clean?!"
She shrugged, and didn't bother to turn on any lights. It struck me that she probably forgot to pay her bills too. I checked. Not a single drop of water fell from the facets and there was no electricity. I glared at her, lounging on the couch.
"Time to start cleaning. "
"Oh come on! kyou wa tanjobi desu!" She protested, quickly translating (sorta). "That's not how you spend your birthday!"
"Clean!"
And so we spend my birthday cleaning her apartment. It wasn't easy. Within the hour, the heat made us strip down to our underclothing, which made it slightly awkward when we had to borrow some of her neighbour's water or go outside.
I was glad Nico and Clarisse weren't there--They might have killed me (indecent behaviours and what not) Well you know what, it was hot and clothing wasn't all that comfortable! Unfortunately, Camp-half-blood had experienced trackers, so I knew they'd get there eventually.
But they weren't the first to get there. I was dragging out another bag of garbage when Alice showed up. Along with Lucy, she was one of my right-hand men (Lucy being the other) when I was Morrigan, only thing was, Alice didn't take her imprisonment as well as Lucy had.
Before I could respond, Alice had her daggers at my throat. "A bit indecent, don't you think?"
I didn't move, my voice was steeled. "Let's see you clean Lucy's apartment, when she hasn't paid any of her bills."
A small chuckle caught in her throat, and I took the chance to get out of her grasp. There was a flash of golden light and I parried her tiny blades with my giant scythe, dancing out of her path, and into Nico's.
"Shit."

Notes

So...I got in another chapter today...tell me what you think

Yes that is real Japanese--I can't guarantee my grammar is correct (it's been two years) but you should be able to put into Google translate just fine---also yes that is Angel cursing---and Lucy and Alice have stage names along with Alice's "The Morrigan"

Lucy: "Mourning Star"
Alice: "Reaper"
