Time's Daughter

Awake

My head hurt. Someone was messing about in my head. It was bad enough I was starting to disappear myself now that the Morrigan had been eaten almost instantly by Athaliah's power. And now someone was going through my thoughts and giving me a massive head ache.
I grumbled and stormed out Kuro the Moron's, as I'd taken to calling him, stupid floating castle. We were floating over the city of New York and I actually started to feel myself when I looked down at the city. I couldn't leave any more, either.
Kuro had liked the Morrigan, he hates me. I have a conscious, the Morrigan doesn't. I absolutely refused to kill for his pleasure. I had enough blood on my hands as it was.
You might think Black Widow has red in her ledger, but she is nothing compared to me. My ledger isn't even red anymore, it's black. But right now I wasn't entirely focused on that. I wanted to know who was in my head. My head was pounding.
I shook my head slightly, and closed my eyes, sitting on the very edge of the floating castle and dived into my subconscious. Only to find someone I didn't really except.
My best friend and my boy friend. Lovely. They hadn't noticed me yet. Thank the gods. And judging from the way they spoke about me/the Morrigan, they didn't realize I was myself again.
but they were giving my a headache, and I really did want them to know that Kuro was basically holding me captive. Nico might try to be a hero and recuse me and well...die. If I couldn't stand up him, with all the power I had I doubted he could. They needed to leave.
And since this was my brain, well...they never should've come here in the first place. My eyes flashed and all light went out. Might have well been blind.
"Hey, what happened?" asked Nico.
"She doesn't want us here," answered Athaliah dryly.
"Ya think," I snapped in the darkness. "You are giving me a headache."
"You'd think the constant murder of innocent people would give people a headache," Nico snapped.
I fought back a chuckle. He was standing up to the Morrigan...or at least he thought. I really did love his stupid little hero antics. Even if they'd get him killed in these situations.
"I haven't murdered anyone in couple of days, be fair," I said, trying to sound, well, not happy to see/hear him.
"Be fair to a murder?" asked Nico.
I wasn't sure why, but everything he said made me want to laugh. I guess I hadn't seen him in so long so I was just that happy. I didn't say anything, I knew if I tried I'd just laugh and they'd know I was me again.
but if I remained silent, then they also know something was up. But I didn't know what to do. I was just too....urh. Kuro has kept me from Nico for way too long.
"Is something wrong?" asked Nico, confused.
I bit my lip. Yeah. Something was wrong. "Oh, for the love of," I snarled. "Get out!"
I with drew before I could reveal anything and ended up face to face with Kuro. He was still wearing the face of my dead brother, Darren.
"What are you doing?" he asked, suspiciously.
"Nothing you need to worry about creep," I snapped. Folding my arms angrily and we started floating towards long island, and what had kinda been the one place I wanted to see as long as I been kept in this stupid floating castle.
Why did it even have to float anyway? Kuro seriously has superiority complex.
"I have plenty to worry about where you're concerned," he glared at me. "Maybe I should just kill you and rid myself of the worry."
"You can't," I reminded him dryly. "I may not have enough power to kill you, but I have enough to survive."
"Is that was you think?" He growled, almost smiling. "Dont you have a fear of being submerged?"
I paled. My lip trembled. I almost did the whole you wouldnt thing, but well, Kuro would. So I lost my dignity. "Please," I begged. "Dont."
Kuro laughed quietly. "Why would you even bother?" he sighed.
We were finally floating above the camp and...the lake.
A whimper escaped my lips. Kuro wrapped his arm dangerously around my shoulders. Smiling dangerously. "Bye!" he said cheerfully, as he pushed me over the edge.
Now I'm really no a screamer--it hurts my throat. But this time I screamed as I fell towards the lake.
