Dawn's POV

He sent me a pointed look as he gave the man behind the counter $20.I rolled my eyes.Did he really think me throwing money in someone's face was important right now?Whatever.I walked out and left him to work out us leaving.I walked up the outside set of stairs and approached Zoe's room.I heard laughter and opened the door to see Zoe laying,knees hanging,on the bed,her arms spread apart.I walked in and sat beside.
"Any certain reason for all this excitement?"
Her eyes shot open and she started,falling off the bed.She picked herself up and sat on the bed again.She said,"I'm just really happy with where I am with Matthew."
I smiled and said,"That's to be expected.You guys belong together."
She stared at me and then smiled."You really think so?"
I slung my arm across her shoulders and replied."Zoe,It's time for our first GIRL talk."
She nodded as if she had been expecting it.I said,"I have never seen Matthew happier before he met you.You're his one and only.He loves you."
She smiled in reply."I love him too."
"Then you can be happy all you want.You guys deserve each other."
I stood up and walked out.From the landing just outside the room,I stared down at Matthew.
He was holding hands with a pretty girl.
And just about to kiss her.
A dazed look in his eyes.
The girl smiled then saw me.She smiled so much deeper and then her appearance flickered.
For a second,she wasn't a pretty mortal girl,but a she-demon with flaming hair and mismatched legs.Matthew didn't see, his eyes closed.
A scream tore from my throat.Zoe ran out and saw Matthew,the empousa'sdisguise flicking.She screamed once she saw."MATTHEW,NO!"
The demon's and Matthew's lips touched.
