It had been hours and there had been no sign of Jake or Clarisse. Grover had slept through most of the hours and Annabeth had been silent. Sapphire sat on the edge of the make shift raft and refused to stop looking. The sun was rising slowly and it made it easier to see out onto the ocean. However there was no food or drinkable water and the sun brought with it a suffering heat.
"The next time I see Apollo I am going to kick his butt" Sapphire grumbles to herself. Annabeth sighs from behind on the raft. "What kind of god just goes and abandons a bunch of lost teens?"
"Is that a trick question?" Annabeth answers. "Because I know this camp of lost teens who could answer it with lots of evidence" Sapphire turns to glare at Annabeth. Unfortunately she is unable to see the glare due to her lounging on her back next to Grover with her arm flopped over her eyes.
"Apollo visited me many times during my younger years" Sapphire states smugly. "I was never abandoned by him except for this situation" Annabeth starts coughing and sits up. She stops coughing shortly after but goes on to rub her temples on her forehead.
"Sapphire, I think you have forgotten the main reason as to why Apollo claimed you" Annabeth sighs deeply and looks beyond tired. "Then you have your adoptive parents"
"My adoptive parents never abandoned me" Sapphire grumbles "I only ran away for Luke" Annabeth looks at Sapphire in confusion.
"I didn't know that" Annabeth fiddles with her hands nervously "I guess I can understand that though. He was my family too but to you he.. You were just a little girl and he was all you knew. But Sapphire you still have me and everyone at camp"
"Do you think we can save him before it's too late?" The question hung in the air between them with only Grovers thundering snores to answer.
"If you can't then nothing can save him" Annabeth's answer was painful but true.
"I kinda ruined that chance" Sapphire sighs and looks out into the ocean "I did something really stupid" Annabeth gives a questioning glance leaving Sapphire with no other option but to answer. So she does. Sapphire tells Annabeth about everything she did after she left camp and how she managed to stay on the ship, which included admitting the kiss. Then how she got told to leave the ship which led onto her bumping into Annabeth within Charybdis. Annabeth just sat there listening with no expression.
"You haven't ruined anything, Sapphire. I would say that you have only muddled Luke's head a bit which could be a good thing. If he is thinking about you then he won't be able to focus on other tasks" Annabeth smiles softly and pats Sapphire on the head. "Have hope Sapphire"
Another hour passes by slowly and the sun is blasting all the heat it can muster on to Sapphire and her friends. They were all beginning to suffer from the thirst and hunger. Annabeth was beginning to burn pretty badly on her arm and Grover could no longer hide his panic. The situation was bad and finding a solution to fix it was proving difficult. Sapphire refused to look away from the water in fear that she would miss something.
"I could eat anything right now just to get rid of this hunger" Annabeth grumbles. Grover sighs next to her and pets her arm in reassurance. Sapphire rubs her eyes with both her hands and lets out a loud yawn.
"I just want cake. It's been so long since i've had cake" Sapphire replies and goes back to watching the water bobble about. Silence returns to the raft and no one says a word in protest. Annabeth jumps slightly and begins rummaging through her jean pockets. The raft begins rocking slightly from the movements that Annabeth makes. Grover turns a slight shade of green and begins taking deep breaths. Sapphire turns around to check on him and notices what Annabeth is up to. In Annabeth's hand is a drachma and on her face is determination.
"I'm not sure if you can pay your way out of this situation.." Sapphire jokes. Annabeth glares at her in return.
"I need you to do your whole water mojo thing" Annabeth orders and waves her hand towards the water.
"Water mojo? Did you just hear what you said?" Sapphire jokes but gets to work. Focusing all her fear and panic from the situation on to the water she then lifts her hand slightly. The water bubbles slightly and slowly begins to rise up and up. Soon enough it is above their heads.
"Now I need to make so sort of waterfall over up and make sure the sun shines on it" Sapphire does this but also manages to soak everyone while she does it. The sun blazes through the water and a rainbow appears just above Govers head. "Good. Now I can do my part"
"Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering." Annabeth speaks softly and then tosses the drachma over the waterfall and into the makeshift rainbow. Moments later Chirons face appears and Sapphires heart drops. She had thought that Annabeth was trying to contact Jake.

"Annabeth? Whats happened?" Chiron sounds worried. "Sapphire?"
"Chiron, we might be in some need of assistance" Annabeth states and tilts her head towards the ocean and then Chiron notices where exactly they are.
"Well that is bad. Where are Jake and Clarisse?" Everyone goes silent for a moment.
"Missing" Sapphire says. "We all fell from Apollo chariot and the other two haven't been seen since" Chiron frowns slightly in thought. The whole situation was indeed hard to digest.

"My first priority would be to get you three to safety and then focus on getting a search party out to look for the other two" Annabeth nods at this and Sapphire feels sick. "I will send some campers out on the pegasus to find you guys. Hold on till then" Chiron smiles sadly at them all before disappearing. Sapphire felt like she was disappointing Jake by being the one getting saved and not with him. This would be a short trip back to camp before she would go on search for Jake. It seemed like she was barely ever at camp these days.
