Behind the Shadows

In the terrible situation Sapphire was happy to see that she had not woken up in the closet again. However she was in Lukes office, handcuffed to one of the chairs at the desk. Her mouth was duct taped, and from a quick glance at a mirror she had whiskers and insults written on her face in marker pen. It was hard to tell if it was Nancy's or Caydens doing. The pair of them were on the same level of evil. Speaking of Cayden and Nancy. The pair are currently arguing about something in front of Sapphire. God like guy is also here and he is silent, but he has a nasty glare glued on Sapphire. Its a glare that says "don't even bother trying to escape". She hadn't even tried to escape. There was no point. Where would she go. The ocean was now a no go and the island they were docked at was too small for Sapphire to get away and to be able to stay hidden.
"No! It should be me who gets the reward." Nancy hisses and then stomps her foot. The little tantrum makes Sapphire snort. Cayden crosses his arms and glares down at Nancy.
"Why should you? I walked out and saw her first" Cayden grumbles. Sapphire tilts her head and begins to enjoy the show. They had been arguing like this for the past hour.
"I was the one who lead you outside. It was my idea that lead us there! Idiot" Nancy takes a seat on the desk and matches caydens glare.
"Maybe you should both take the reward and shove up your.." Sapphire mumbles behind the duck tape. Cayden kicks her leg before she can finish. No one can understand what she is saying so whats all the the fuss about.
"Shut it fishstick" Cayden growls. Fishstick? Was that an insult or some strange pet name? Sapphire laughs which is rewarded with another kick to the leg. The laughter does not stop and Cayden's face slowly turns a shade of cherry red. The door to the office opens and Luke and some of his men walk in. Luke stops in his tracks and asses the situation. It must look rather odd with Sapphire cuffed to a chair, and Cayden and god like guy looming over her looking like they want her dead. And then theres Nancy perched on his desk while applying more lip gloss on. There was also the fact that Sapphire had whiskers and very inappropriate words all over her face.
"Keys!" Luke barks at no one in particular. Keys to what? It was not the response Sapphire had been expecting. She had expected something more on line of 'What on earth is going on here?'
"Keys to what?" Cayden asks. He looked nervous so did Nancy. God like guy just looked, well he looked like himself, as per usual. Luke takes a step forward and throws out his hand.
"To the handcuffs you moron". Sapphire grins behind the duck tape. Bet the Cayden was not expecting this reaction. He shuffles about and then hands a set of keys to Luke. Luke walks over to Sapphire and uncuffs her. He then cringes as he slowly rips off the duct tape. Sapphire jumps to her feet and swiftly kicks Cayden on the leg hard. He yelps and jumps about holding his shin.
"You're lucky I don't have my sword on me prick" She growls before she throws herself back down on the chair. Nancy get off the desk and prances towards Luke with a grin on her face.
"I have something to tell you" She chirps. Sapphire takes a deep breath and accepts that she is about to be thrown to hell.
"We! Remember its all about teamwork Nancy. Or you could try Cayden and I" Sapphire says in a matter of fact voice. Everyone turns a glares at her and it makes her laugh a little.
"Enough Sapphire!" Luke scalds. "What is it Nancy?" Cayden leaps forward and stands beside Nancy. The pair of them begin talking and the whole story flows out. Sapphire slowly begins to rise from her chair. There is no way to get out of this now. She had no weapon and her excuses were pointless. Luke listens to them and his shoulders stiffen. There was no where to go if the punishment was her being tossed out of Lukes army. This was all just one big massive failure, and Sapphire saw it as all her fault. She sends a plea for help to the gods before Luke turns to face her. His face holds disappointment and it cuts deep into Sapphire.
"Is this true?" He asks first. Lying won't help. All Sapphire had left to do was to grab a shovel and dig her grave.
"Yes" It felt like the most honest thing she had said in months. "I did this to save my home" That last part was for a reaction though. Luke sighs heavily as though he is beyond tired.
"I will stop targeting innocent campers. I need you to leave though and I don't want to see you on this ship again" His words sound so silent. She had gotten what she wanted, to save the camp, But why did she feel so empty? Sapphire looked at Luke one last time before she turned around and walked out the door. Nancy's laughter followed.
