Fighting Fate

A Fairly Rare Opportunity

"But Chiron!" I begged.
"Cassie, we've already had this discussion. You can't have a quest until you're a little bit older." He countered.
"How much longer?!? I've been asking since I was eight-years old and all you ever tell me is, 'Oh, just wait till you're a wee bit older, Cassadee!"
I'm pretty sure Chiron rolled his eyes at me.
"Maybe. Maybe sometime soon." He muttered under his breath, almost sounding like he regretted it.
I think my jaw dropped to the floor.
Maybe? I thought. That's the closest I've ever gotten to yes!
Giddy with excitement, I grinned at half-horse, half-human creature that stood towering over me.
"Thanks Chiron!" I said as I sped off toward my cabin before he said anything else that would smear my new hope like a squashed bug.
Unable to contain my excitement, I practically cartwheeled past the scenery of Camp Halfblood. The vast, rolling hillsides were speckled with bright-red splotches of strawberries. The outdoor-pavilion appeared
to be brand new, with all the marble pillars surrounding the freshly-painted picnic tables like a white picket-fence.
I was so joyful, I started sprinting past the thirteen cabins. The Ares cabin was an almost obnoxious red, and the boar's head hanging above the door was quite the grotesque image. Its teeth glistened a disturbing white, and I could easily imagine it being alive and the tusks of its mighty snout ramming into me. On a more uplifting note, Poseidon's cabin shined an almost unreal ocean-blue, with abalone shells gleaming brightly with their exuberant hues, contrasting the snowy-white seashells stuck to the walls. That cabin had been empty for quite some time, though.
Finally, when I reached my cabin with my lungs starving for oxygen, I stopped for a second right outside my cabin. Zeus's cabin.
Even though there was another child of Zeus (sorry, Jupiter) living at camp, he was old enough to have his own home around the borders of camp. His name was Jason Grace. He was my instructor for sword-fighting, and I had known him ever since I was eight years old. He got married a few years before I had arrived. His wife, otherwise known as Piper McLean, was a gorgeous daughter of Aphrodite. Her chestnut-brown hair seemed to perfectly compliment her unblemished complexion, and her eyes had always amazed me with their constant shifting. They kinda reminded me of mirrors. Piper and Jason had always been incredibly kind and understanding of me, and were my all time favorite teachers of the camp.
My thoughts about possibly being able to go on a quest swam around my head like fish trying to swim upstream.
Barely even taking in the great-big puffy clouds painted in front of the dark, sky-blue outdoor walls of my cabin, I tugged strongly on the worn, maple knobs of my cabin's door.
Crossing my otherwise empty room, I collapsed onto my ever-so-comfy cot, sprawling out to collect my thoughts.
I can't believe I might go on a quest! I thought excitedly.
No one has been on a quest for quite some time. Ever since...
Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out behind me,(almost bursting my ear drums)
"Hi Cassie!" Whatcha doin'?"
I flipped over onto my stomach faster than a wind spirit in a foot-race, and was shocked to see my two greatest all time friends staring right back at me through an Iris message.
Fiona Green and Jake Jensby.

Notes

Hello people of the World Wide Web! The great SeaWeedBrainAllTheWay is back! Anyways, in this chapter I focused mainly on characterization and imagery, and I have to say I'm pretty proud of this section! Oh, and let me tell you an absolutely delightful story. So, I kind of hate typing all my stories directly onto this website (I'm on my Ipad so it's a little awkward) and I always use a writing app I have on my Ipad to write the stories first. When I'm finished, I just copy and paste it onto this page and Tada! There's the story! But today I typed my story as always onto my app, and when I finished I tried to press copy. But that didn't go well. I accidentally pressed paste, so it got rid of my ENTIRE story and replaced it with the last thing I copied. *nervous, insane laugh.* And then I had to rewrite the whole thing. :D Yay! Anyways, thanks for reading my long rant and story! Also, I don't think I'll be uploading anything to the character page of this story anytime soon. This is because A.) Whenever I read a story, I like to imagine the characters in my head, not just think of them as that image. B.) I'm too lazy to find a similar picture to each of the characters. Ah, gotta love laziness. Be sure to add some suggestions, write some concerns, or even type up some rude hate down below! I take anything and everything! Oh and don't worry, the chapters will start getting way longer once we get a little further down the road. Adios amigos!

@Blackjack Tempest
I'm sorry to tell you this, but I've kinda lost my inspiration for this story, lol. Buuuuuuuttttt I'm just putting some final touches on the first chapter of my newest story. And trust me, there's going to be a couple even better than old Lassie, once the story gets rolling a bit. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for it! Oh, and thanks for reading!

This is Awesome! <3 Lassie <3 Please Update.

@Nitro War
Okay! That's actually a really good idea, I can't believe I didn't think of it xD Thanks for the comment!

Omgs, I love your writing! It is so awesome! I do however, recommend putting the person's POV at the top, so we know who it is. It takes me awhile to find out who's POV it is. For example,

Lukas's P.O.V

And you begin the story down here. I think it would help some. So yeah, awesome job on the story!
