Stacey Pendragon-daughter of the sea

ANNABETH POV

I got up to the sweet taste of nectar in my mouth. "Don't give her anymore, she'll burst into flames" I heard Stacey say. "Annabeth, can you hear me?" Sam's voice said. I got up, groaning. My head was pounding as though somebody was hammering it. "Yup, I can hear you" I said. "God's! I'm glad your awake. It was freaking me out", Stacey said. "Is our little Sleeping Beauty awake?" a voice hissed from the shadows. Arachne. I quickly scooted away from the corner of the wall. She came out of the shadows towards me. "Stay away from her unless you want to become monster dust" Stacey growled. Sam whimpered as Arachne turned towards her and said, "Brave words, hero. I would have finished you the moment I saw you, but somebody else wants to meet you. So it will be better if you follow me". With that, she began going forward.

I tried to get up, but I was too weak. Sam and Stacey took hold each of an arm of mine and helped me to walk. We soon reached a wide room in the heart of the sewer. Arachne was standing in a far corner of the room. "Who wants to see us?" Stacey demanded. "A person of your past, who haunts your dreams" she answered. Stacey turned pale. "It cant be her, it cant be her" she kept on murmuring. "Who is this person?" I ask her. "Somebody" she replies in a shaky voice. I get the clue that she is terrified of this person. But who could it be? Then a hissing voice surrounds us. "Anastasia, I've been waiting for you" it said. It sounded as though a thousand snakes were talking. "What do you want from me?" Stacey's voice shook slightly. "What do I want?" the voice sounded amused. "I want you. I must say, you have grown into a beautiful damsel. The last time I saw you, you were only 6 years old". "Stop the sweet talk and just tell me WHAT DO YOU WANT?" Stacey voice shook the chamber. "I want revenge".

The silence in the chamber was overwhelming. "If you want revenge, at least show your face, instead of hiding in the shadows like a coward" Stacey called out. "Think before you talk, daughter of Poseidon" the voice shook with anger. "And I will not be able to show myself because I don't have a form. Arachne, you may have your revenge with the daughter of your enemy" I was chilled at those words. "Wait! Why them? What did they do to you?" Stacey questioned. "They did not do any thing to me, Anastasia. Arachne demanded for them in return to harbor my weakening soul in her gallows" the voice answered.

Arachne advanced towards us, hissing with delight. Next to me, Sam clutched my hand in fright. I didn't know what to do. Stacey drew out her sword, Typhona and slashed at her. She drew back with a furious hiss and tried to grab at her, but Stacey rolled away. She ignored her and came towards Sam and me. "I have waited for ages for you, Annabeth Chase". "Hey, Ugly Face!", Stacey called out. A lame insult, but it seemed to anger Arachne. She turned towards her and attacked her. Stacey tried to stab her, but Arachne stepped away. I looked for something to distract her, when I heard a scream of utter pain. Arachne had stung Stacey. Sam quickly ran at her, ignoring Arachne. I followed to see what had happened. Three wicked looking stings were lodged in her right hand, just above the elbow. She was grimacing in pain. Sam looked as though she was going to get a panic attack. "You should take them out before the poison spreads" I tell Stacey. She nods and pulls out the first sting, crying out in pain. "Careful, Stacey" Sam cries. She quickly tugs out the remaining two stings with some force, tears running down her face and we help her stand up. I suddenly sense a shadow behind me. Stacey eyes widen in shock and before I can react, she pushes me out of the way and jumps on Arachne, and they both go rolling away. "Stacey!" Sam shouts. Arachne throws Stacey away and comes towards us. I see Stacey struggle to get up and she motioned to me to a ledge on the far corner of the chamber. I nod and grab Sam and we run to the ledge and climb it. Arachne snarls at us and tries to follow us, when Stacey calls out to her. "Hey Arachne!" and a burst of bright red light comes out of her hand and hits Arachne. "Impossible!" the snaky voice exclaims from a corner. "Not at all, Titania" Stacey replies. With that, she plunged her sword in the ground. I couldn't understand what she was trying to do. Then suddenly, bright flashes of light started shooting out of her sword and all the pipelines began to burst around us. The ground starts to shake as though an earthquake has come. A crack appears in the ground and opens up even more. Arachne shrieks and tries to get away from it, but then she is overtaken by the water flowing from the pipelines. She struggles to keep afloat, but is drowned. The crack seemed to be pulling everything towards it. With a jolt, I realize where it goes. All the way to Tartarus. I pull Sam away from the corner of the ledge and we huddle up away from the ground, as much as possible. I try to look for Stacey, but there is no sign of her in the water. Then the snaky voice says," We shall meet again, Pendragon" and with a cackle of joy, she disappears and everything is quiet. All the water has gone into Tartarus along with Arachne. Sam jumps down and starts calling for Stacey, but there is no reply. We look everywhere, but she is not there. Then I see the horrified truth. Sam sees the look on my face and sinks to the the ground, crying.

Stacey has fallen into Tartarus.
