NICO POV

"Sam, will you hurry up? They're waiting!" Stacey called out while climbing up Half Blood hill, Sam and me running behind her. "I can't help it if you've got such long legs. Will you slow down?" Sam shouted up.

"That's why I told you to play basketball. Instead you were busy with your books" Stacey replied. "Girls, calm down!" I shouted as Sam opened her mouth to reply. "Yes, Daddy!" Stacey laughed and ran all the way out of camp. Sam just rolled her eyes and followed her, lugging her baggage along. It was the last day of camp and Stacey and Sam's friends were here to pick them up. I had only gone to see then off.

We finally reached the road, where a car was waiting. "Shtashey!!" A voice shouted out and a small form bounded over to Stacey, causing her to lose her balance and she fell down on her back and her bags fell around her. "I mished you shoo much. Whele wele you?" A little girl was sitting on top Stacey and was rambling away. "Maria, get of her" a boys voice scolded and the girl Maria ignored it and went on talking. "Let me stand up, Mars. Then I'll talk" Stacey laughed and tried to move her of. Maria obediently stood up and waited, while Stacey got up and dusted her jeans.

"Whele wele you? Damon did noth even play bashkethball with me. I wash shoo boled" Maria asked. "I was at camp, Maria. It was important for me to be there. Don't worry, I'll play with you and even take you to ice-cream, huh. Angry with me now?" Stacey kneeled in front of her and held out her hand. Maria thought for some time and said, "OK!". I took a closer look at her.

She had brown hair pulled back in a ponytail and dark blue eyes. She looked 3 to 4 years old and was wearing a pair of shorts and a pink T-shirt with the picture of a lady in a pink gown on it. " Who aale you?" She asked me. "My name's Nico" I replied, kneeling in front of her. "Aale you Shtashey's boyfliend?" She asked me. I could feel my face heating up and I shook my head. "No. I'm her friend" I said.

A boy and girl walked up to us and hugged Stacey and Sam. "Guys, meet Nico. He's the son of Hades and my partner in crime" Stacey introduced me. "I was supposed to be your partner" the boy whined as I stood up. "He's my accomplice at camp and you at school" Stacey replied. "Hi, I'm Damon. Unfortunately, Stacey's best friend" the boy gave out his hand and I shook it. "Unfortunately? How dare you?" Stacey narrowed her eyes at Damon. "I'm Hanna, Stacey's cousin" the girl said and nodded at me while Damon and Stacey were arguing. " And I am Damon'sh shishterl, Maria. Hanna, he ish Shtashey's boyfliend" Maria piped up next to me.

"No! No! Nothing like that" I quickly said and stared at Maria, who just giggled and ran to Sam to hug her. "You're Stacey's boyfriend?" Hanna asked me. "Who is whose boyfriend?" Stacey asked as she and Damon walked to us, followed by Sam who had Maria on her shoulders. "Nothing. Nothing at all" I quickly answered. "Is Nico your boyfriend?" Hanna asked her.

Stacey immediately turned red and said, "No, he is just friend. Who told you this?". " A little birdie" Hanna replied and Stacey said, "Well, your little birdie got it wrong. Its actually Sam and Damon". Sam started blushing and Damon stuttered out, " What? Who...who told so?", while Hanna started squealing and Stacey snorted,

"I am no expert when it comes to relations, but it is clear that you like each other. Just ask her out and get done with it". "I'm going in the car" and with that Sam walked away, hiding her face. "I'm calling shotgun!" Stacey shouted after her. "Will you come to my houshe?" Maria asked me and I just responded with a blank look "She is usually shy around new people. Looks like she has taken a liking to you. Good luck with that." Damon told me and shuddered. "Why good luck with that?" I asked him.

"She's going to practically paint you pink and make you a living barbie". I had a horrifying image of myself in pink and make-up and shook my head in fear. " Maria has sense. She won't make boys Barbie's, she'll make you Ken dolls" Hanna scolded Damon while Maria's lower lip began to tremble. Stacey shot me a horrified look and I understood what I had to do. "I...donth painth...people in...p..p..pink" she almost broke down. I kneeled down in front of her and said, "I'll come if I can. Don't cry" and she sniffed her tears and said, "You'll come, right?". I nodded and took her on my shoulders. " You won't do anything to me, right? I am not such a big fan of pink" I asked her. "I won'th. Even Shtashey dosh noth like pink" she replied. I nodded and put her down.

"Bye then, I need to get going. I'll meet you during winter then" Stacey told me. "You're coming in winter break?" I asked her. She rolled her eyes and replied, "Of course, I'm coming. Play some pranks for, huh?". " Yeah, sure" I nodded and she waved at me and went into the car. I watched as the car pulled away and I realized that this was the best summer I had had till now.
