Monkey for Ransom

Monkey Rescued

“Octavian stole my monkey and he said he was going to use it as ‘a sacrifice for the gods!’ CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT! I have had that stuffed monkey since I was two years old!”
Jason had this murderous look on his face. “I am going to kill that scrawny little twig!” Just then Jason decides it would be a good idea to run in the same direction that Octavian had gone.

Then Reyna and Nico come running toward us from the cabins out of breath.
“Octavian wants to steel something from one you, hold it for ransom and then play capture the flag Roman camp against Greek! So yeah, glad your back!” said Nico.
“Nico first… little late. I think Jason is giving Octavian 5 minutes to live and we kind of need to make sure Octavian stays alive. Unless we want world war 3…” I said. I just hope Nico got the message.
“Your right we should go find him and then prepare for capture the flag. This is going to fun!”

We followed Jason’s path into the woods. It was kind of ironic that Octavian was hiding about 3 minutes away from bunker 9. We found Octavian in a tree. Jason was standing right under him but just did not think to look up.
“Hey, Jason, big man, buddy, bro, look up!” said Leo.
Jason looked up and saw Octavian dangling his scrawny little legs from the tree above him. Frank and I grabbed a hold of Jason before he jumped up to grab Octavian’s legs. “Oh look, even your comrades love me! Thank you for being my bodyguards!” He said with a mischievous smirk. Jason was straining himself to the point where his face was turning purple working avoid socking Octavian in the face. Instead, Jason summoned the wind and made the branch break off so Octavian landed on his butt with a loud THUMP. Piper managed to get through everyone’s defense line and jumped on top of him, nailing his arms to the ground with her knees. She then drew her knife and held it to his throat. “Listen up, the whole camp has had about enough of you! Now if you don’t give it back I will let Jason do anything he wants to you!” Piper said. “HA! Guess what? I don’t have it anymore! Now if you want it back, you are going to have beat us at capture the flag!” Jason, still being held back by Frank and I, started to speak. “Fine! But if we win you and you only Octavian, are not welcome at Camp Halfblood again!” said Jason. “You have no right to make those decisions Jason Grace! If you fight us you will have decided against your true home with the Romans, and will no longer be one of us. You will be an outcast!” Octavian yelled back with fury in his eyes. “Jason may not be able to speak for our camp, but I can, and what he said I agree with! If you want to risk peace with us for a game of capture the flag, you’re on!” I said, and with that Piper let Octavian go and we went to prepare for the game.

It was now 10 minutes until the horn blew and the game started. Jason looked troubled. I was sitting on a on a tree stump next to the old Labyrinth door when Leo walked up to Jason. “Hey man I know your thinking about what happened but don’t take it to heart about what Octavian said. You are one of us, but if you have to fight with Camp Jupiter, we understand.” “It’s not that, I just, I don’t know let’s just win this thing.”

The horn blew. Annabeth and I found each other back to back again. We ran through the forest to the river. Clarisse was already there. She looked like she was enjoying this. Out of nowhere Nico appeared next to me. “Jason is out numbered! I was wondering if I could use Mrs. O’Leary to help him?” “Yah sure whatev- Nico duck!” A javelin went right over his head in an arc landing right behind him. Then he blended into the shadows and was gone to fetch my pet. We ran across the river. The flag was barley visible. As we got closer I could see that Reyna was guarding it. “I am so sorry I have to do this.” I told her. I summoned the water and made a fist with it. It hit her so hard she was thrown five feet away. Annabeth was just about to grab the flag, when we heard a familiar voice. “Leaving so soon?” the voice said. Annabeth whirled around to face the familiar voice. “Octavian!” I did not notice the Stoll Brother’s standing by the river until now. They ran past Annabeth and I, grabbed the flag and started to run waving the flag above their heads while screaming, “In yo face Roman scum!” Octavian was so surprised he didn’t even think to act until the Stoll Brothers were already 50 feet away. He then drew his sword and tried to maim me. In my head I was thinking back to the first game of capture the flag I had ever played. I parried and used the old trick that Luke showed me the first time I ever had sword practice in my life. I disarmed him within seconds. He stumbled back against the tree now cornered. I put Riptide up against his neck, looked him in the eye and said, “Braccas meas vescimini! I always wanted to say that to you. So in case you need me to translate that, eat my pants!” I then kicked his legs out from under him and he slumped down the tree with a loud thud. Annabeth and I turned away from him and chased after Conner and Travis.

“Victory is sweet.” Said Leo while he had his feet on the table and leaning back on his chair in the Big House. “I mean Pipes-“ “Don’t call me that.” Piper cut in. “-Got her monkey back and Jason gets to stay!”
