There's no Luck that lasts forever - One-shot

He didn't see; he didn't hear; he just felt it. The sword against his back. You couldn't blame him. Fight against three monsters, that were stronger than ever, is a difficult task, even for demigod heroes. Especially when you're doing it ALONE. Yup that's right: Percy Jackson was fighting three monsters at the same time, without Annabeth, which you can say its a bit strange once they always fight together since they're 12.
But fighting Gaia, is not exactly a game, and there were so many monsters that they had do split up. She was a few yards from him fighting a strange monster, whose name Percy couldn't remember (which is no new). The others had vanished in the middle of monsters's clouds.
Then, a monster caught him off guard, and when he realized what happened, he was falling into the ground with a huge Bang. He tried to get up, but he had no strength and the pain in his back where the knife hit him was increasing. He knew he could do nothing.
- PERCY!!!!!! - He heard the desperate yell of his girlfriend, who was running towards him.
Annabeth's face was full of scars and scratches, her blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail, and you could see in her face she was tired. Her grey eyes were filled with worry. But she was still beautiful for him.
She knelt next to Percy and took his hand. Then, she seemed to notice the blood pool under him, and her expression changed, as she realized what would happen.
- Please, don't leave me seaweed brain... - She almost begged, with a tear wanting to escape her eyes.
- I'm sorry .- he muttered.
His vision started to get blurred, but he had time to memorize annabeth's face get close to his.
They kissed. He usually likes when she kisses him, but not this time. It felt like goodbye, and he didn't wanted that, although he knew it would happen. The reality hit him hard: She was saying goodbye. This was their last kiss.
She must have felt the same way, because she, reluctantly, pulled apart.
- I love you seaweed brain! - Her voice was shaking.
- I - Love - you - too- wise - girl - He managed to say almost in a whisper, before close his eyes.

NOOOOOO!!!- Annabeth bursted into tears. She refused to believe it, but she knew that denying wouldn't change anything. As she watched her boyfriend dying it felt like life was been taken from her body too, and every second that passed, she could feel a piece of her heart break
For a second she just wanted to forget about the war, and die right here right now next to Percy. She couldn't imagine her life without him anymore, and if he wasn't with her, what was the point of staying alive? Or maybe (yeah it would be better) wake up and found that was just a dream,to sum up, she wanted anyting but acept Percy was gone.
Then she saw she was still holding his hand, and that brought her back to realitty.
NO!- Annabeth thought as she tried to clean up her tears. I have to get up and fight, I have friends that need my help.
She was tired, weak and her heart broken, but she got on her feet. She glanced at Percy's body, and the empty feeling that was consuming her vanished to be replaced by anger.
- Gaia's not the winner yet- She muttered to herself with a determination in her voice she couldn't figure where was come from. Maybe because if she has to blame someone for Percy's death it was Gaia. It was her fault.
She started to stab monster after monster, but at some point she didn't cared anymore if Gaia was winning, or if more keep coming. These monsters had killed the person she most loved in the world, and she had to revenge his death.
And at least, if she died (which she had big chances of), she would be dying fighting for her friends, and, who knows, maybe would meet with Percy again at Elysium.
