I woke up slowly feeling warm and safe in the unfamiliar bed. I opened my eyes and sat up leaning against the headboard and looked around, the room kind of looked like a large college dorm.

With white walls, a large queen bed that i was sitting on, a window with the heavy golden curtain pulled shut, a white rung over a hard wood floors, a small door that once i got up and opened turned out to be a small walk in closet (that strangely had all of my clothes, dress, and shoes from both my dorm back At school and home at my grandmothers house.) and another door that turned out to be a nice bathroom ( that again had everything from my bathroom at both my dorm and home. It had everything from my the kind of make up i wear to the shampoo, conditioner, soap, and even my brand of tooth paste i used. Talk about scary.)

After showering and dressing in a a pair of jeans, t-shirt and black boots. I made my way down a long hallway with boors on either side of the hall, they looked all the same except for names engraved on them in Ancient Greek,I read some of them as i walked towards a staircase at the end of the hall.

"Will Solace, Summer Caine, Phoebe Colewell, Julie Times and Sage Swift." I mumbled quietly as i climb down the stairs to the first floor. The first floor must have been the living room judging by the large couches, chairs, plush rugs and huge flat screen T.V mounted on the wall, the t.v was currently on CNN and was showing a huge bombing that had happen in Virginia sometime late night around midnight.

A woman in a blue business suit was standing a few feet away from the sight looking grim and sad as she stared into the camera and began to speak.

"This is Claire Meyer coming to you live at the sight of school bombing. The bombing here at Athens school for the heavily gifted happened some time late last night around midnight, as much as officials can tell a large C4 bomb was placed inside the main building sometime during the day ans set off during the middle of the night class shift, taking the lives of twenty people and injuring countless more in The explosion." She said and one of the older boys in the group watching graded the remote and turned it off. There was silents then a young girl about ten spoke up sound scared and close to tears.

"Its getting worse isn't Will?" She asked and Will place a gentle hand on her shoulder and squeezed lightly.

"It will be okay." He told her not answering his question. "Um...hi." i Said and everyone turned to stare at me. "Oh right new girl." Will said and stood up and walked over to me with a smile on his face.

now that i could see him better I noticed that Will looked...just like me.

"Hey there, i'm Will Solaces. Welcome to Apollo cabin." He said and before i could say anything a gong rang in the distance and everyone got up and head towards the door. "Come on, dinner is starting."

We all walked in a perfect line, with me behind Will as he explain to how our father was Apollo and how we all had some kind of gift like healing, archery or the ability to master any instruments that fell into our hands.

"Wait we can all sing really good to?" I asked thinking back to all the karaoke contest i'd won over the years.

"Yeah. You ever watched 'The Voice.' "Will asked and I nodded, The Voice was my favorite and i watched every season and episode ever.

"Well most of the people on there are daughters or son's of Apollo." He said and i just had to asked. "So...is Christina Grimmie one of us?" I Asked and at Will's nodded i had a fangirl moment.

Yeah i admitted i jump up and down, squealing like a idiot but i didn't care. I Was related to Christina freaking Grimmie and i was dying to meet her in person, Will waited until i was done to continue explain the rules and what happened if i got a quest.

We marched up a hill to the mess hall pavilion. Satyrs joined us from the meadow. Naiads emerged from the lake, a few girls came out of woods and i mean actually came out of the woods. I saw a girl about my age come out of a juniper tree and run up to a satyr how held out his arms as she hugged him.

At the pavilion, torches blazed brightly around huge marble columns, a central stone fire pit the size of a large bathtub sat blazing brightly as the golden flames licked up towards the sky. Each cabin that its own tables, everyone sat together laughing and talking and for a moment i thought back to a time where a scene like this would have looked odd with me in it and still did... or at least to me it did.

When everyone looked up to stare at me, i just did what i did best. Acted.

I shot everyone a sweet smile and looked down A bit, making it look like i was shy and when a nymph ran into me i grab her in order to keep her from falling and asked the normal question.

"Oh are you okay?"

I could tell she was one of those stuck up bitches how snapped at anyone and i had planed this out perfectly.

"Watch were your going Bitch." She growled and pulled herself ruffly away from me and turn to give me a nasty look. "I'm sorry, i was just trying to keep you from falling." I said and blinked my eyes hard, making them water like i was about to cry and turn my face in to the perfect mask of hurt. I wasn't weak, i was just making everyone think i am so i could gain allies and have an advantage later on.

"Well maybe you should watch were your going and something like this wouldn't happen." She said and started on a bitch tangent until a pretty girl with long hair, a pink dress and make up came over and put her pink painted nails on her hips and glared at The nymph in front of me as fake tears ran down my face.

"Babette shut up, you have been getting on everyone nerves since you and your group of fan girls," the girl stared be Babette interrupted her with a snarl. "We ARE NOT FAN GIRLS!" She yelled.

"WE ARE FOLLOWERS OF LORD DIONYSUS, HIS CHOSEN ONES. " she yelled but the pretty girl looked unimpressed my the girls words.

"Your a bunch of drunken whores how can take a hint that one the man hates you lot and two will never chose YOU to be his queen. You are nothing but A bunch of fan girls the guy has to put up with every fall until he finds a new wife again." The girl said and my stomach clenched, was that way Dionysus had sex with me ? To enjoy his last bit of freedom before he married again.

"I'm warning you Falls." Babette threatened but the other girl snorted.

"You'll do what? Kill me, you can't. You and your little friend swore on the river Styx you wouldn't kill of hurt anyone will your here and since your pretty much powerless until the summer solstice you've got nothing. Don't even think about challenging me to a fight or wait please do. I'd would walk away with only a broken nail, you on the other hand would walk away in a body cast."

Babette looked even more pissed if that ever possible.

"Lord Dionysus would punish you if you hurt me." Babette declared but i saw a flicker of doubt flash throw her eyes, she didn't really know if Dionysus would protect her if the girl did really kick her ass.

"Yeah I'm so sure Mr.D would punish me for putting his biggest stalker down and under for at least a few months will she recovers from having ever bone in her body being broken. Keeping her from following him around like a lost puppy will he works." The girl said and Babette frowned and just turned and left.

The girl turned around to smile at me, "Hi I'm Mercy Falls." she greeted and i wiped the fake tears from my face and smile back at Mercy. "Hi...thanks for standing up for me...i normally would have told her off its just.." i trailed off and gestured around me and Mercy nodded seeming to understand without me saying anything.

"It's a lot to take in isn't?" She said and I nodded thinking i may actually like this girl. "Yeah... look can we talk later? My...brothers and sisters are waiting for me." At Mercy's nodded i went over to the Apollo table and sat next to Will.

"What was that about?" Will asked and i just shrugged and looked for the food but saw none, i leaned over to Will and whisper to him, asking where the food was.

"Wait for it." Was all he said and so i waited.

Chiron how had been at a table near the front pounded his hoofs against the ground, and everyone got quite. He raised a gold glass into the air.

"To the gods!" He shouted and everyone mimicked him, raising glass into the air. "To the gods!"

Wood nymphs came forward with platters of food; fruits,vegetables, cheese, fresh bread, chicken, and barbecue. My glass was empty but Will saw my look of confusion and leaned over to whisper into my ear.

"Speak to it. Whatever you want as long as its nonalcoholic."

I stared at the glass for a second then said.

"Apple cider mixed with spicy cinnamon."

The glass filled with the golden colored liquid, i took A sip of and hummed at the taste of the sweet yet spicy flavor of my drink, Will raised an eyebrow at my choice.

"Isn't a bit to early to be having anything sweet?" He asked but I just shrugged, what could i say i had a sweet tooth.

" Here." Will said and hand me a plate with some chicken rapped in bacon. "Follow me," he said and stood along with the rest of the group. I noticed everyone was gathered around the huge stone fire pit dropping in portions of there food.

Will murmured in my ear, "Burnt offerings for the gods. They like the small or something."

"Your joking."

The look Will shot me said clearly. "Take this serious kid."

So i watch Will as he stepped up and dropped in half his chicken and closed his eyes, "Apollo." He said and i followed his lead, closing my eyes and whispered my fathers name and i could have sworn that i felt a warm tingle ran up my spine, not in a threatening way but a warm kind of reassurance.

When everyone had returned to their seats, i notice Dionysus came in and sat down at the head table, looking really tired and upset, he sat down across from a tall boy how looked like him. His son i realized as the boy leaned over to whisper to him looking concerned as a nymphs with long blond hair quickly brought him a plate with food and hurried away.

As everyone finished their meals, Chiron pounded his hoof again to get everyone attention.

Dionysus stood looking distracted as he started to talk. "Yes, i guess i should start off with saying hello to all of you brats. Well hello. Our activities director, Chiron, says that next Friday is capture the flag and cabin six holds the laurels."

At this a bunch of serious looking athletic kid cheered and banged there fist on there table at the news.

"Also, we have a new camper today. Ivy Hunter daughter of Apollo."

Everyone turned to stare at me and i blushed.

What was wrong?

"That's the end of my announcements, you can all go to the campfire." He said and sat down again still lost in thought.

Before anyone could get up, a girl about sixteen came running in looking disheveled and crazy, she had short spiky red hair, green eyes that looked to be turning white as she frantically looked around and only stopped when she saw me. Moved quickly until she was in front of me and graded my arm with bruising force and dragged me to my feet and pulled me behind her, i tried to get away from her but she just wouldn't let go.

"Let go of me you crazy bitch!" I yelled and tried to knock her feet out but she just moved so i couldn't do it without bring us both down.

She finally let go of me when we were standing in front of the head table and her eyes turned pure green.

The girls eyes turned back to normal and she stared at me blankly.

"Um Hi. Oh gods i did It again didn't i?" She asked and everyone nodded.

"Um hate to interrupt but what the hell was that?" I asked. Chiron looked at me sadly and turn to look everyone else,

"Counselors, to The big house, everyone else head back to your cabins...Ms.Hunter come with us." He Said and turn to a satyrs how was standing with a boy with sea green eyes.

"Grover could you please get your cousin and bring him to the big house?" He asked and i raised and eyebrow as Grover left.

"How his cousin?" I Asked Will.

Will raised a eyebrow at me, clearly surprised.

"Your protector Jack Greenwood." He said and i frowned.

I vaguely remembered Jake telling me briefly once at some new years party, he had a big shot cousins that his family worshiped ever since he did something one else in his family had done before.

When i asked what he done, Jake had just shrugged and went back to drinking.

"Oh." Was all i said and we walked toward the big house, once inside Will lead me to the game room.

Will told me the old room had gotten the nickname 'The War Room.' By the Stole brothers since the old room had mainly been used as a meeting room for the counselors to plan raids and war strategies over the last couple of years.

The game room was a small with a old pin pong table with A bunch of chairs around it in the center of the room, Dionysus sat on one end of the table with Mercy ,Two twin boys, his son on one side And the guy i saw earlier with a girl with long blond hair and with gray eyes, another girl sat on his left and she too had long blond hair but that was the only thing she had in common with the other girl. She looked to be my age with a long scar on her left temple that curved down to her cheek, she looked like she been to prison a couple of times judging by her stance.

There was a small Latino boy sitting next to prison chick, he was fiddling with a ping pong ball and looking nerves as he glanced across the table at Mercy how was pointedly not looking at him. I wondered if he was her Ex-boyfriend and he cheated on he or something then broken up with her after he got tried of sneaking around.

(Hey it had happened to me on three separate occasion, it would be nice to know it didn't happen to just me.)

"Well. Its obvious the girls got a quest, so how else is going?" The Latino asked and throw the ping pong to Dionysus son how caught it and study it like it had all the answers and all he had to do Was stare at it long enough to find it.

"She shouldn't go." He said. "She has no experience combat wise or other. All she's got is her gifts and that pretty much an unknown wild card in its self."

It made sense but his tone pissed me off So i spoke up. "Um hay! She has a name and its Ivy. Also i do have some skill, I'm not only a black belt in Wing Chung, Jujitsu, and some weaponry." I snapped and everyone stared at me in disbelieve.

I know that i was throwing them off, only a few hours ago they seen a small defenseless little girl crying her eyes out because a bitch of fan girl, now they were starting to rethink and reassess there earlier thoughts about me.

Good. That's what I had wanted.

"Prove it." He said and i raised an eyebrow.

"Fine let step outside." I answered and started to make my way outside the others following me as i opened the front door and walked to one side of the lane and waited as the other guy faced me. I took A light stance and waited, he moved quickly but faster, i reached out with my awareness and felt the moment he moved to strike, then reaching out with my left hand; i blocked his fist before he could land a blow.

Then moving before he could get out of my grip, use my left foot to unbalanced him and throw him over my shoulder and turned to watch as he went flying onto the ground a skidded, then stop.

I Smiled as he let out a groan of pain and blood trickled down the left side of his temple from where his head smacked against the ground.

"Ivy what did i tell you about kicking peoples ass?" Jake said braking the silents, i looked over to see him and Grover standing off to the sides, Grover looking disappointed at his cousins words.

Looking at them both side to side, i could now see that they were related to one another with the same color eyes, same skin color and height; The only way you could tell them apart was the fact that one had long straight hair and no goatee and the other had short puffy hair with a messy goatee.

I smiled at him and replied with a smirk.

"That if I'm going to do it, make use there is more blood so everyone flips out and you can pick pocket them in the chaos."

He nodded and his cousins face grow darker and he final spoke.

"So that's what you've been teaching your charges Jake? How to be a killer?"

I got pissed at that, couldn't The guy take a joke?

"Hey." I snapped when Jake didn't say anything, which in itself was weird.

Jake wasn't afraid to get into your face if you pissed him off or throw a punch if you ran your mouth off about him or his friends.

I might still be pissed at him but Jake was still my friend and I wasn't about to let this jerk mess with Jake like this.

"First of that was a joke, second I've known how to do that kind of thing for years, long before Jake came into my life and third even if i hadn't known that and Jake taught me, it Wouldn't be your business. So why don't you go back to the woods and do something useful like i don't know maybe save the rain forest or Something." I said and everyone was staring at me like i was crazy.

"Enough!" Dionysus said and we all turn to face him, i pretty sure he just stopped a potential fight from braking out. "Greenwood goes with her and one counselor will Go with her as well."

Mercy raised her hand.

"I volunteer." She said and for some reason my mind went to the hunger games.

He nodded and turn His gaze on my me and for a second i saw something flicker throw his eyes and then it was gone.

"You leave first thing in the morning."
