Ivory Chains

We parked out in the parking lot, and as I got out of the car I pause to look up at a familiar tree and paused my grip tightened on the door, and my skin paled at the sight of a familiar black Ford GTXL 1.

"What the fuck Is he still doing here? Its Friday, He's never here during the weekends." I demanded to no one in particular because I was to shocked to ask anyone a directly question, back before I knew the truth Dionysus had once told me that every weekend he would leave early Friday morning and return Sunday night from what he called 'holding court', meaning Dionysus and his followers would party so hard that they would create wild magic;I knew because Dionysus had taken me once with him to the magical night club where he held court and well... magic happened and I never could remember what total had happened.

"I don't know Ivy, but lets go find out." Mercy said and for some reason something in her voice made me pause. I turned to look at the daughter of Aphrodite, and i frowned , she sounded to smug like she knew something but I didn't question her simply because I knew that if I could trust anyone it was Mercy.

"Lets go," was all I said as i turned, and closed my door.


We march up the hill kind of like we were on death row, we walked singled filled slowly walking as if we would faced the electric chair as we walked; as we walked I began to feel something was off. It wasn't something i could point my finger on but some part of me just knew something was wrong with the wild life around me, I frowned as we reached the top of the hill, and froze.

The camp looked unchanged from the last time i'd seen it, median sized house surrounded by other buildings and a huge forest, lake and maze like strawberry field which doubled as a shrine to Dionysus, every thing in the camp had been cast in eternal summer, but now it look like fall was beginning to turn to winter;The once green grass was now dead. The trees were bare of there once lush green leafs, the cabins looked to be frost ridden and need of a hole new paint job if the faded coloring was anything to go by.

"Oh Gods." Magic whispered and I had to agree with her.

"What happened while we were away?" Jake demanded and opened my mouth to say something, I not sure what maybe to reassure him that every thing would be okay when i heard a branch snap and a female voice curse, we turned quickly to see a wood nymph with long blond hair, green eyes and pale skin pick herself up from where she fallen on the ground.

"Bella?" I asked kind of remembering the nymph from a party Dionysus had taken me to at one of the many club's he owned.

The nymph nodded and walked closer to me, she looked scared and was shaking so hard that if it Wasn't for the fact i knew all nature spirits didn't feel the cold, I would have said she was freezing.

"Hello Priestess, How may I serve you?" She asked and I wanted to correct her, I may have willing choice to bond myself to Dionysus but in the end my willing had come from being lied to, Dionysus had tricked me you think that would count for something in the end but no it didn't, I was Dionysus slave for as long as he wanted to keep me around and because I was a descendant of his wife and look almost exactly like her that would be never.

"Bella, what happened will i was away?" I asked deciding to use my status as Dionysus whore to my advantage and shake the nymph down for information.

Bella looked down at the dead grass and began to play with a strand of her hair, as she began to speak in a fearful tone.

"Lord Dionysus has been lost in a bitter madness since you left priestess, at first he was as he normally was but then one of his followers tried to seduce him and he became in rage, he physically struck her during a camp dinner and dragged her by her hair to the center of the pavilion and demand everyone their to find you and return you to him unharmed of else." She paused and looked up at me horror in her eyes.

"One camper demanded to know what her Would do if anyone refused, and he...he turned the woman into...into something horrible. Since then everyone here as been searching for you while lord Dionysus has worsened."

I made myself turn my face into a unreadable mask, i forced myself not to hope that Dionysus regretted what he had said to me, I knew better then to believe even for a moment that he cared.
