Of Time Lords and Men

Landing

The spinning control finally came to a stop came to a stop in the Doctors eyes. But it was sadly still full of steam and smoke.
'Vents!' he yelled to the TARDIS. And a loud noise filled the room. 'Better not forget that.'
He stumbled towards the door. The handle glowed. And when he touched it it was red hot. He pulled out a handkerchief from his pockets and pulled on the door. Big mistake.

Reyna watched in amazement as the box seemed to solidify in the air. She, Frank and Hazel had clambered onto the roof of the one remaining building.
Suddenly, disrupting her from her thoughts, a loud groan emanating of the machine filled the air. Then, the light around it changed, to a deep red. Seconds later, it shot of into the distance. Right, Reyna noticed, where the barrier had started to collapse. Right buy the aqueducts.
But that wasn't the strangest bit. Because right when it would have passed through the area, a sort of gateway opened up, revealing the ducts. The Box seemed to go through this portal, and was engulfed in the water. Then the portal closed it; and unknown to the three, took away the shield keeping them in the present.

The Doctor opened the door and nearly drown whilst doing so. Because what he had failed to realize was that he had landed inside of the path of one of the ducts, the doors facing upward, allowing water to flood into the consol room. The TARDIS, had known this, and tried to warn the Doctor, but had failed in doing so.
He opened the door. Once the lock had become undone, water, now overflowing due to the sudden blockade, rushed in to the new found space. The Doctor wasn't spared in this flood. He slipped face first into the floor, but the water was good for another thing; its speed at catching him. But that was sadly all it did.
He hit the underside of the consol, shooting pain through his body. He was pushed down to the lowest point in the room, the library. He stood up, the water already up to his waist. He ran to the consol, just making it. He knew exactly what to do. He pulled a few levers, pushed a few buttons, coded in some things, and pulled the final lever.
Then, the doors closed with a force overpowering the water, closing. Then, from the inside, the doors seemed to sizzle away. But it was still in exact position. On the outside.
On the outside though, a door on the now dry end of the duct flashed into existence, poring out water perviously blocked. The Doctor had rerouted the exit to the back, allowing water to flood out and not into the main room. Now to get out.

Frank felt it happen. The second the thing went through the portal, he felt their protection stretch out and almost rip. And then it did. The portal closed in on itself, leaving nothing behind. And then it happened.
The building beneath them faded away, and they fell. Hazel, Reyna's, and his own scream pierced the air. But they didn't hit the ground. They kept falling. Into a black void that was time. Eventually their souls parted from their bodies, which had sizzled away into time. Little did they know, this is what each camp had experienced each night for the past couple of days. And what Torchwood had experienced the night before. They reappeared back in their bodies. Just long enough to hear the sudden rush of water coming in from the ducts; flooding the camp. And trapping the Doctor in a sepertate dimesion inside the wrong one.
