The New Addition To The Jackson Family

My mind was racing. Did Chiron know about me being pregnant? What am I talking about? Of course he knows! SHIT! I am going to be in so much trouble! Percy looked over at me and saw how nervous I was to talk to Chiron. He squeezed me hand and said, “It’ll be find. We are adults now. He can only guide us. Not reprimand. We can make our own chooses now.” That was reassuring. But he looked a bit panicked himself.

“Thanks Perce.” I said taking a deep breath once we were ate the wrap around porch of the big house. Once we got inside we were greeted by Mr. D, an unhappy Mr. D.

“Peter Johnson and Annabell Chase, Chiron has been waiting for you. He’s in the parlor.” He said. Well more like grumbled.

“Thank you sir. And its annaBETH and PERCY.” I said.

“As you kids say nowadays ‘whatever’” He replied.

We walked to the parlor where Chiron was passing.

“Ah, children. I need to speak will you about a… um… important matter.” He began.

I mouthed the words uh-oh to Percy and apparently Chiron saw.

He said, “Now child it’s not a bad thing. It’s merely a request.”

“A request?” Percy asked in confusion.

“What do you have in mind Chiron?” I asked.

“You know Juniper is 5 almost 6 months in. I would like you to..” He paused. “You to help her out. She’s stressed and starting to wilt.” He said but I have known Chiron since I was a little girl. Helping Juniper was not what he called us here for.

I said, “Chiron we would love to help her as much as we can. But why did you call us here really?”

“Your wisdom Annabeth never ceases to surprise me.” He chuckled. “Your parents have informed me of you Annabeth and the struggles that are to come. And I will do the best to help. It’s not like the fates to give options.”

I started to cry. Percy quickly wrapped his arms around me and whispered in my ear, “Hey wise girl it’s going to be alright.”

“Annabeth dear, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. I know how it feels to feels to have no control over your life and others lives.”

“I-I’m fine.” I sobbed. “I just thought that you might be mad because I betrayed the ancient laws. I’m so sorry Chiron.”

“The laws are flexible my dear. But I will help in persuading the other Olympians.”

“Percy? What is he talking about?” I asked.

“Well my dad had this idea for a house that is safe from monsters. But it will work on god magic and a lot of it. All of the Olympians have to agree to help. In other words we are so massively screwed.”

“Perseus, don’t act like that. We still have 8 months before she delivers. We have time.” Chiron said trying to sound up beat.

“Well Hera hates me and Ares hates Percy. That’s 2 of 12 gods that we know aren’t going to help for the goodness in their hearts.” I said bitterly.

“And Dionysus probably won’t either.” Percy whispered.

“I swear on the river-“ Chiron started.

“No! Chiron, you don’t have to swear. We know that you will do your best.” I said. Thank you.”

“Annabeth, go to the infirmary and inform Will.” Chiron ordered. “Percy, you may go with her.”

“Okay sir. Thank you Chiron.” Percy said. “Come on Wise girl.”

We walked down to the infirmary and talked to Will he said that he will get the ultrasound equipment in a few weeks and we will make an appointment then. I was so scared to find out when it was due and if it was a boy or a girl. I haven’t even thought of names! After the meeting with Chiron and Will I went back to my cabin to read. About a half an hour later Percy came in and scared the Tartarus out of me. He kissed the back of my head and lied down on my bed and read a comic book. Then the horn blew for lunch.
