Summer Moonlight

One Last Chance

Today was the meeting.

I walked to the Big House, my sword in the form of a bracelet. A bronze bracelet. The Big House didn't seem very welcoming at all. Thunder boomed through the sky.

When I walked inside, I didn't expect much of a greeting, either.
"Hello, Summer." Will Solace called. I waved. "Hi."
My face showing no emotion at all, I sat down.

"Councelors, we are here because something to discuss--the war of Gaea and the Titans." Chiron announced darkly. No one seemed particularly happy.
Malcolm, the councelor while Annabeth was gone, spoke up.
"Chiron, are we going to make a battle plan? Or just get ready?" He asked.

Chiron nodded. "We will need to be ready when Gaea attacks the camp." He said. "We must help get the campers prepared and ready."
The councelors murmured in ideas. The Apollo cabin councelor, Will, spoke.
"We will help heal the hurt campers." He announced.

Chiron nodded in agreement.
Clarisse grunted. "We will be front attack."
Chiron sighed. "Yes. And the Zeus cabin?"
I looked up to see his determined face, but his eyes showed sorrow like he knew who were going to die in the war. Like he didn't think we would win.

Everyone's eyes were on me.
I needed to say it.
"There's something important the Seven need to know." I announced.
Silence.

A few seconds later, Clarisse shouted,
"Scared? Running away?"
I glared at her. She glared back, but stared away after.

"What is... this important information, Summer?" Chiron asked in a calm voice.
I scratched my face as if needing time to think.
"I... can't tell you." I whispered, loud enough for everyone to hear. I felt everyone's eyes on me, then stomped out of the Big House. I sat on the steps.

"You can't stand it, can you?" A soft voice called. I quickly turned around. Allia. The blind girl.
"Oh, it's you." I stared at the daughter of Hades. "Say, can you tell me how you can... see?"

Allia's expression darkened. This was obviously a topic she didn't like.
"The earth." She explained. I understood.
"It feels everyone expects you to be leader, huh?" She said softly. I nodded.

"It's like everyone expects me to be perfect because of being the daughter of the king of the gods." I told her. I tried not to let my anger rage.
"Mmm." She mumbled. "You should go."
I was shocked. I hadn't even told her. "What?"
"Go tell them. The Seven. They need to know." She said. "You have a destiny."
I nodded.

"You're right." I said.
Allia nodded.

"This is one last chance."
